I grew up in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. I watched the community go from Jews to Puerto Rican to finally Russian. It was like huge moving vans showed up one day and the next day there were no Puerto Ricans, a few Jews and the rest Russian.

I’ve watched a lot of those russian dash cam videos and paid attention to everything in the video beyond what is on the road.
I’d want to emigrate too.
Instagram seems to be working like the old mail-order-bride system for Russian women these days.
Hot-looking. Also very expensive-looking.
I’m with you, only it’s Ukrainians where I live. They are the most arrogant and rude people I’ve ever encountered. It’s too early to say whether their offspring will be Americanized enough.
How does that work with Instagram?
We have a pretty good sized Russian enclave in our area. No problems I know of. At least compared to the Muslims and illegal Hispanics here who are totally undesirable.
That’s far less than the 2 out of 3 Brits who want to leave. I can’t blame the Russkies for wanting to move... it’s too cold.
I don’t know personally.
But generally they make themselves available for contacting, so I would assume that way.
We have a neighborhood in Pittsburgh that had become “ghetto Amish” and downright dangerous.
In the past few years a bunch of refugees from Nepal have moved in. They are quiet, Hindu, peaceful, and they all appear to have jobs. They have opened many small shops and restaurants, etc.
In reality an improvement over the prior residents.
