President Trump criticized Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday and revealed the only reason he hired him for the job to begin with.
In an interview broadcast Thursday morning on “Fox and Friends,” Trump tells anchor Ainsley Earhardt that Sessions was never able to take control over the DOJ.
“The Dems are very strong in the Justice Department," Trump said during the interview. "And I put in an attorney general that never took control of the Justice Department, Jeff Sessions. Never took control of the Justice Department.
“It’s sort of an incredible thing,” he added.
He then renewed his criticism of Sessions over his recusal from the Russia investigation.
“Jeff Sessions recused himself, which he shouldn’t have done, or he should have told me,” Trump said. “He took my job, and then he said, ‘I’m going to recuse myself.’ I said, ‘What kind of man is this?’”
The president explained the only reason he gave Sessions the job was because of his loyalty when his campaign first launched.
"The only reason I gave him the job is because I felt loyalty," Trump said Thursday. "He was an original supporter."
Sessions, then a Republican senator from Alabama, was one of the earliest and biggest names to support Trump during the Republican primary.
Until Trump fires him, I stand proudly with Sessions!

It isn’t about the amount of work. It takes two different skill sets to be a senator vs. an administrator. One needs leadership skills to corral the organization the way you want it to go. It isn’t easy changing the culture of a massive bureaucracy, but you begin at the top and for whatever reason, he has let Rosenstein run the day to day operations. I think Sessions just doesn’t know how to run the Justice Dept - what an incredible fail.
Oh, c’mon. Is President Trump trying to lose my support? The DOJ was not going to be put under control easily. What a weird thing to say now, when we learn how out of control trusted associates such as Cohen and Omarosa were. Fact is, no one could’ve even imagined just how deep the swamp water runs.
Speaking of Guilliani, I notice that Jay Sekulow has been silent since Rudy got in there.
I think it’s a mistake to marginalize Sekulow, if that’s what happened.

Yesterday, AG Sessions was in Cleveland reporting about putting an end to sources of the horrific drug epidemic. Seems to me AG Sessions is getting things done because he refused to get wrapped up in “Russia, Russia, Russia”.

He can’t fire Sessions yet. Senators are still threatening impeachment if he just pardons Manafort, for cripes sake. And there are literally large groups of “resistance” morons on standy to riot—for real—google it. Just waiting for the phone tree to launch. Probably out of Obama’s basement. They’ll go nuts when he fires Sessions.
It will happen after the Mueller report and midterms.

For Sessions to take the job, then recuse himself immediately on all things Russia, on the flimsiest of excuses, tells me that Sessions is either really stupid, or more likely, he planned to stab Trump in the back and keep Rosenstein and Mueller as a threat and bargaining chip.
So Trump should fire him anyway on the eve of the elections...do a double dog dare!
Sessions stabbed Trump in the back. Sessions is the primary cause Mueller is around at all
