Penn State Math Course Focuses on Hillary Clinton’s ‘Strong Character’

A new math course at Penn State University this semester has a bizarre focus on Hillary Clinton’s “strong character.”

According to a report from Campus Reform, a new math course at Penn State University focuses on everything besides math. Professor Marc Fabbri’s “Finite Mathematics” course covers everything from Hillary Clinton’s “strong character” to the “cultural intolerance” to President Lyndon Baines Johnson’s Clean Water Act.

On the Penn State website, Fabbri’s course is described as an “introduction to logic, sets, probability.” But students who took Fabbri’s new course last spring say that the course is focused on other topics.

Take for example the following excerpt from a text provided to students by Fabbri. “The emergence of the Tea Party played a central role in the 2008 U.S. presidential election,” the document reads. “The victor was Barack Obama who, like Bill Clinton, served as U.S. president for 8 years — the two men guided always by the strength of character and force of intellect of First Lady Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton.”

In another section of the document, Fabbri asks students to explain why the following statement is incorrect: “all those who enjoy religious freedom promote cultural toleration.” That portion of the document was accompanied by a scholarly criticism of imperialism.

There are a large number of parasites being fed by the massive debt bubble of the education-industrial complex.

The Tea Party didn’t exist until after Obama was inaugurated and then pushed Porkulus. Bad history. But par for the course in too many colleges nowadays.

I noticed that too. The idiot prof didn’t even check his own leftist sources, like Wikipedia.

LOL.

Question # 1: You have $10 and you give Hillary $5. How much do you have left?

Question # 2: Hillary entered into a contract in which she agreed to pay a consultant $1 million dollars. She paid him $100,000 so far. How much more will she pay him?

If only Hillary would share her secrets for making hundreds of millions via a home-brew email server that allowed paying customers to illegally download top secret documents, or how to setup your own pay-for-play access point to Federal Gov regulations-handouts-Visa approvals, or even her fool-proof plan to loot millions from Haitian quake victims....

...these poor students wouldn’t have to waste their time learning real business skills.

Does anybody remember the old days when "Johnny has five apples..." was considered biased against minorities when explaining low test scores in schools?

On the Penn State website, Fabbri’s course is described as an “introduction to logic, sets, probability.”...been a long time since I studied this stuff, but I believe the intersection of Hillary Clinton and "strong character" is the nullset......

Every bridge designed by someone who takes this class should be proactively destroyed just to save everyone a lot of time and trouble.

That's not going to be a problem.

Finite "Mathematics" is one of the "math" course that allows liberal arts and humanities majors to satisfy the General Education requirements of the PA legislature for six credits in logic or math.

Thirty years ago, it was considered a remedial course that couldn't be used to satisfy the requirement in any major, but two few liberal arts majors were able to get past the first (highly dumbed down) class in differential calculus, so instead they'd flunk it a few times and then petition the Dean's Office for a waiver on a good faith effort.

Couldn't have that going on in the era of grade inflation (two F's on your transcript hurt the GPA) so they've allowed what are essentially remedial high school classes and non-math "quantified science" courses to satisfy the requirement.

Keep in mind: these are the people whose politics are "science based."

Finite Mathematics is a prerequisite for many following courses like Calculus

Finite Mathematics may technically be listed that way in the catalog, but the truth is that no major with a calculus requirement honors it for credit.

In other words: it's a dodge created so liberal arts and humanities students can actually pass one of two "math" courses required by the PA Legislature for General Education.

For students in the colleges of Science, Engineering, and Business it's considered remedial high school level work on a non-academic high school track. (< Algebra I)

Looks like logic and probability math classes have changed a lot from the old fashionec days of P’s & Q’s and old fashioned odds making to a political science and political corruption class.
Logic & Probability used to be a really fun class for me.

Now that we have buried McCain, how can we plan an even bigger send off for Hillary. After all she was a twice candidate for potus and a senator. It has to be bigger and better.
