around that time you really needed a static leash when working with boards so DEC in it’s infinite wisdom had watches made with a contact point on it you could snap a ground leash to, but... unlike the standard leash what had an elastic band ensuring the lead was always in contact with you skin, the watches had normal watch straps that weren’t
and THAT, was an EXPENSIVE mistake all the way around.

I remember one year shortly after I fried the world We had a Cricket Invasion almost of Biblical proportions. The sides of IH-35 Lower was white concrete and it was Black With Crickets. They somehow got inside that same HDD and crashed the Heads when they got stuck in between the Platter and Heads.
That’s when We got upgraded to a better machine that was at least Cricket Proof.
