It wouldn’t have to be done too often, just enough.

How about the campaign team have a random drawing of disabled veterans and gold star families to being them to a Trump rally to meet the president and explain their plight.
People who bring food donations for the local food banks get to sit nearer to Trump, based on security and availability. Throw a party with the president for volunteers who have donated over X amount of hours for a candidate or the party.

John Kelly would be the person to contact if you want your
idea to come fruition.
But to the best of my knowledge he isn’t doing radio, is he?

“Fireside chats?” LOL. That would destroy Trump’s reputation. The only “fireside chat” Trump should ever have must be inside a pro wrestling ring.

“I was thinking that it would be great if Trump held fireside chats with cabinet members and talk about what they have accomplished hope to accomplish in the near and long term.” Agree on the messaging, needs some work for sure. However, I don’t see Trump as a fireside kind of guy. I think folks see him as a businessman coat and tie guy. But, not against giving the fireside image a try. Just no sweater and pipe please, 😝 ...

I found that in managing a large department in a large company, that people who didn’t attend meetings and didn’t know what was going on felt perpetually frustrated. Even when I told them what was being done, they couldn’t see the progress from their viewpoint. And, in many cases, for reasons beyond my control, there really was nothing that could be done about what they saw as a problem because from the higher viewpoint it was not a problem or it was something that politically couldn’t be addressed.

While it is nice to get feedback from the troops, for the most part it is just noise and not necessary to address. It may feel better from the worker’s perspective to be heard, but listening is a double-edged sword. If nothing happens to address the problem the frustration turns into anger.

Unlike management that constructs imaginary castles in the air and them moves into them, I think Trump is the most reality based president in my lifetime. I am not worried at all having him run the show. He is doing a great job.

Jesus, how much more can the man do?

And who on earth is going to sit around and listen to these videos other than 70 year olds?

I think Trump should do an infomercial. He can afford to buy a half hour on Fox and he would do it well. He really needs to fire up the base. His rallies are great, and he enjoys doing them. However, I don’t really think he’s reaching out to enough people that way. A nation wide infomercial would be just the ticket.

FDR gave about three fireside chats per year, not like they were a weekly media event.

SNL made fun of Jimmah Carter with their “plantside chat” sketch in 1979. The Peanut outdid them with his infamous “malaise speech” that same year as the killer rabbit attack.

PDJT’s tweets & addresses at packed rallies do very well to get his message across, IMO.

Simple. Trump just needs to have fireside chat every Friday Evening with the DNC talking Points one one chart board, and the RNCt/GOPt talking points on the other chart, sitting on bar stool, with a pointer dissecting the valid positions on each issue. This is News! This has balance. This has Trump at his best, like Reagan the showman, insightful and smiling, reminding Americans that “I” was once a Democrat too.

Slightly off topic but relevant in the same sense is the current state of the Florida Governor race. Gillum (D) has just released a very good campaign ad that makes him look like a grown up Barak Hussein Obama, complete with tax increases, guaranteed health care, and free education for all. Conversely, DeSantis (R) has just released a new ad that you about Little League baseball that you have to watch at least twice to realize that it’s a campaign ad.

I don’t think that Gillum can actually win in FL, but if the (R’s) can’t come up with a better way to present DeSantis to the low info voters, Gov. Gillum may be a reality, and a disaster, after the elections.

President Trump spoke with media present four times at the UN yesterday. Early in the morning he spoke to a group of leaders from 120 countries that had joined the USA in an anti-illegal-drug initiative. Later he had a one-on-one with Abe of Japan, with el-Sisi of Egypt and with Moon of South Korea. It is very hard to find any coverage of these events. When there is a link, it has a picture of President Trump with a very twisted mouth.

In a google search just now of "President Trump UN Sept. 24, 2018", the first page includes a NYT headline of …. White House Memo At the U.N., Trump Can’t Escape His Political Problems Back in Washington " This is several articles before you ever get to anything about any of PDJT's appearances at the UN on Monday.

Of course when I did watch them from links provided here in FreeRepublic, the cameras were clicking loudly throughout the 2-3 minute greetings with world leaders. This proves that plenty of press was there. They just choose not to give any air time to positive things about our President. In my lifetime, I don't recall any Republican President (maybe any president) who gave more opportunities to the press to hear him.

i dont want president and his cabinet or others telling people much of their next steps to deal with problems in USA or abroad. enough leaking of info already.

I don’t mind if he gave updates more, but he already does that via twitter.

i don’t think any message you send to the White House will be taken seriously, or taken at all. During the campaign the Trump website had an input box soliciting ideas for governing from the American people. I queried the White House twice asking which of these ideas, if any, had been considered or implemented. Both times I got a form letter response promising an answer and so far...crickets. I suspect all those suggestions from Americans were selected and then deleted. It was just a gimmick.
