I don’t know it was ever Plumb-——I was referring to an earlier post that had that info.

A scary place,though-——there was a novel written about it.

I am related to both Hillary and Donald Trump via John of Galt. Sorry, folks. P.S. I’m especially proud of the Trump connection.

I was conceived on Plum Island 🤣 Laura Bush is my 8th cousin according to ancestry. And Joan of Arc is the sister to one of my great grandmother's many generations ago. It all depends on which family leg that's searched. Jesus Christ is also one of my distant relatives. We share a common grandfather a billion generations ago which means one of my lines can be traced to Adam. It's a lot of fun, especially if you actually are able to make actual links. There are a couple of well known singers who share a closer great grandmother, and a set of natural born quintuplets from along those similar lines that my mother was named after. Lots of fun when you grow up with family stories only to find out they were actually true!!

well,I’m my own granpa!

Many, many years ago when I was twenty-three
I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her and soon they, too, were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life
For my daughter was my mother, ‘cause she was my father’s wife.
To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad
For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother
To the widow’s grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my step-mother.

My father’s wife then had a son who kept them on the run
And he became my grand-child, ‘cause he was my daughter’s son.
My wife is now my mother’s mother, and it makes me blue
Because, although she is my wife, she’s my grandmother too.

If my wife is my grandmother, then I am her grandchild
And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild
For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw
(This has got to be the strangest thing I ever saw)
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpaw.

I’m my own grandpaw
I’m my own grandpaw
It sounds funny I know
but it really is so
Oh, I’m my own grandpaw.

Bruce, yes. Stewart, yet. But Stuart (or however the royal family name is spelled), not directly to them, but indirectly (distant cousins) through the older Scott lines such as Malcomb abd Duncan.

I think James Buchanan, widely regarded as the worst president in history, goes back directly to James I, last king of Scotland and first of the House of Stuart.

The older royalty, especially, was pretty good about spreading their seed around. My wife actually goes back to Henry VIII who diddled the sister of Anne Boelyn and produced an illegitimate daughter (at least) some years before marrying Anne then having her beheaded on invented charges.

Mormons were incredibly prolific . . .

Yes, they were and, by modern standards, still are. I think Utah is still the youngest average age in the country. Partly it is a result of a great red state economy which produces a lot of jobs, especially first career jobs. But even more than that, it is a result of a very fecund population which produces a lot of children.

If we would import a lot more Mormons and fewer illegal aliens, we would get more future and current conservative voters.

I have a geneolgy tree somewhere that traced my ancestry back to French Canada and Scot settlers in Virginia back in the 1700s.

My son did a Ancestry 23 DNA and came up with some serious variations from my own Ancestry.com which I suppose came from his mother’s side of the DNA tree. However, do you think I should be suspicious if he is 50% Chinese?

Plum Island off the end of the north fork of eastern Long Island. Sailed thru Plum Gut many times, very strong currents.

Amen to that! Too many people blindly copy and paste. Always double check the documentation and if it actually makes sr6.

Yeah Obama but way way back to King Henry II. 9th cousin of Sarah Palin. 10th once removed of Princess Di. My bil is my 10th cousin. They are only a paternity test away from falling apart though unless you go by a legality of some sort.

Freeper Brown Deer downloaded a huge chunk of my gedcom from rootsweb when I only allowed 3 or 4 generations. But it's handy for me nonetheless. He's got tons more he researched himself and put on rootsweb.

I never found any president though and am not a Mayflower descendant even though I have much early New England ancestry, many first settlers in a town in CT towns/settlements.

But Ann Coulter was born in CT, and she is way higher in the pecking order, and beauty, too, than I. I looked up some of her background, and she's about 58! Amazing!

And 2 first cousin marriages which doubles the tree all the way back.

Was at findagrave and may have another Revolutionary War vet, went there to see if the one very iffy adopted possible native American connection 4 gr grandparents back. Not sure how you calculate the proportion, know gr grandparents are 1/8, so following that logic it's 1/64, not the first cousin line or it would be 1/32. We'll never know in this life at least.
