Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer suggested Tuesday night that U.S. intelligence agencies could "get back at" President-elect Donald Trump after he questioned the legitimacy of the intelligence community’s probe into Russian involvement in the hacking of Democratic party officials.
The "Intelligence" briefing on so-called "Russian hacking" was delayed until Friday, perhaps more time needed to build a case. Very strange!

Appearing on "The Rachel Maddow Show," Schumer said, "Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday to get back at you. So, even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he is being really dumb to do this."

"I don't know, but from what I am told, they are very upset with how he has treated them and talked about them," Schumer replied.

It is not so much that Schumer believes Intelligence is a rogue function of government as it is that it is a Democrat party function of government. As such Republican presidents, according to Schumer, have no authority over the intelligence community.

As a member of the military, and in the civilian sector of the government after retirement, I worked with a few of the different agencies in my position. This part of the statement Schumer made is an example of the past practices that certain people within the system have executed. What he is implying here is that defense agency, which are investigating organizations confined to the laws of the US, that because of a questioning of the actions or procedures by a senior official, that they should retaliate against the questioner, a senior official. That is the definition of mutiny.
He’s lucky he isn’t in the military as the United States’ Uniform Code of Military Justice defines mutiny thus: ... A person who is found guilty of attempted mutiny, mutiny sedition, or failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct.
Furthermore, the reference places him in direct line of the act of overthrowing a part of the government of this country. According to 18 U.S. Code § 2385 - Advocating overthrow of Government:
Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.
Impeach him as this is a high crime or misdemeanors, and execute the sentence. He is not immune by description of the act he took.
