The Threadgills on Lamar is still there. I still have to make meal stops there when I hit Austin. Looks like the 2019 legislative session will bring them more business. And expand my waistline.
We used to go to Threadgills a couple of times a month back in the late 70’s - early 80’s.
Used to go Downtown and sit within a few feet of SRV back in the early days and watch Him Play, can’t remember the name of the place.
And THEN there was The Armadillo till it was torn down to put a bank there. Those were the Good Ol’ days ! Frank Zappa, Robin Trower, Little Feat... Back when a $20.00 would get a Half Gallon of Bacardi Dark, Coke to mix with it, enough gas to get to and from work for the week and a Whataburger and Fries for lunch and still have a few cents left.
