Whatever one can say about the SEC when these two titans delivered another historical game. The parallels to the Championship game are eerie. UGa opened up a two score lead that they consequential blew when 'Bama shut down their offense. The back up 'Bama QB came into the game to save the day. This game has the added benefit of one of the most controversial play calls of the year as Kirby Smart called a fake punt at midfield deep into the 4th quarter on a 4th and 11. The play was stuffed as the whole 'Bama team knew UGa was going for a fake prior to the snap. Then hero Jalen Hurts taking advantage of the short field marches 'Bama for the game winning TD. I don't understand why Smart just red shirted five star #1 recruit Justin Fields. I have seen a couple of UGa games and Smart puts Fields into the game and he does nothing. Smart never trusted the guy to even put the ball into the air. I guess he promised Fields he would not be red shirted. Smart gave Fields the ball on the ill fates fake punt attempt. It was Fields being on the punt team that alerted everyone a fake was going to be attempted. Until today Tua was the favorite to win the Heisman trophy. But only 10% of ballots were submitted going into Championship Saturday. Kyle Murray put on another masterful performance avenging OU's loss to Texas while Tua was mediocre throwing two red zone picks. There will be a lot of suspense as the winner of the Heisman is announced this Saturday. Nice the Grunge Dawgs of Washington are going to the Rose Bowl most likely to play THE Ohio State University but Levi Field was a graveyard as nobody bothered to show up for a Pac 12 Championship in a inconsequential game between two 3 loss teams. The crowd that was there booed Pac 12 Commissioner Larry Scott. I was surprised the Big 12 = 10 Championship resembled a real football game. Oklahoma made plays on the defensive side of the field sacking Ehrlinger several times. A Texas DB had a horrible game being flagged for several pass interference and 15 yard personal fouls.

If a team doesn’t win their conference, they shouldn’t be in there.

They choked in their conference championship game and should attend one of the too many meaningless bowl games, not play for a national championship.

This was an elimination game for Georgia. I completely disagree with Forde as usual. We have no loss and one loss teams that are deserving. In fact too many, as five teams have a legitimate argument to be in the top four. Georgia is on the outside with two losses. Thats just the way it is.

Coffee is for closers.
If you lose two games, and dont win the championship...you are not closing the deal.

The problem is you have three undefeated untied teams at the top. They should round out the field with undefeated untied conference champ UCF based on both their play this year as well as last year’s snub. They’d get Alabama first in the ultimate David vs Goliath game while Clemson and Notre Dame settle the ACC title.

Get out of here. Written by a jock sniffing SEC sycophant, and shared across the world by an equally vapid tribe. A tribe of morans who can’t believe football is played or understood beyond the old CSA.

Article is dead on. Ga is at worst the second best team in the country and the only Team capable of beating Alabama. Conference championship games are extra games teams like ND never face. And be honest ND is 8-3 at best playing in the SEC. Ga beats Clemson, and annihilates Oklahoma and Ohio State if they played. The final 4 is picked by a Committee who are suppose to choose the 4 best teams, but it won’t, Oklahoma gets picked and destroyed by Alabama by 4 TD’s. Clemson beats ND by 3 TD.s, and ALabama beats Clemson by 2 TD’s. Go ahead and givem the Trophy.

The Dawgs looked great for three quarters and blew it in the fourth.
If we had a real play off system, they would be out as the first SEC loser. Only league champions should be in.
Im no fan of Bama but they do have a great team, no doubt about it, and will be rooting for them against the Irish.

I think Georgia is one of the four best teams, but they shouldn’t be in the playoffs because of two losses. And 12-1 Ohio State shouldn’t be in because of their 29 point loss to 6-6 Purdue and other code calls to poor teams.
Fourth team should be UCF or Oklahoma.

Excellent post but everyone hates the Dawgs and the rest don’t know football. Oh well let them keep rigging college football. We will never have a even good college playoff can’t be done unless it’s like the pros.
The very rule you have to win your conference ensures the best teams won’t ever play each other. Dawgs won their side the east but that doesn’t count. But hey How about them Dawgs yesterday against #1 in the nation. Bama, Dawgs and Clemson are the best teams. Noconference Norte Dame huh yeah
Y’all come on down or we go up and play these 3 teams, will beat everyone. GoDawgs

Do y’all not know Georgia won the SEC East and Bama won the West. So all y’all saying Dawgs didn’t win their conference uh yes they did, how many other conferences have two playoff games. NONE
So we in the south have our own national championship, before we even think about the rest of the country come on down. Have some sweet tea...lol

The crowd that was there booed Pac 12 Commissioner Larry Scott. And he deserves to be booed. Thanks to Scott and his enthusiasm for night games, most USC home games this season have taken place at night, sometimes with 7:45 kickoffs which means getting home after midnight. He has also been pushing for weekday games, which interfere with the university's academic mission by drawing crowds that disrupt classes and forcing students to compete with fans for parking spaces.
Under Scott's leadership, the Pac 12 has become a bush league.
