Kicks like a mule!! Can’t hit the side of a barn!! If those were the case, why do so many people like it?

***The Army also took the remarkable step of specifying a semi-automatic instead of a revolver.***

That is until 1917 when the .45 ACP revolver was put in service. S&W and COLT made them.

After the war, they were sold as surplus and the .45 Auto-Rim cartridge was born.

The original Superman was armed with a .45 government model or two.

He was disarmed because the comic producers did not want to send the "wrong message".

The German army had already replaced the 1883 German ordinance revolver with the semi-automatic Luger.

The Italian Navy had adopted the C96 Mauser broomhandle in 1899.

Made for the Philippines ... now made in the Philippines.

(Going to order one of the cheap Rock Island’s myself, just to have a knockabout, Dad’s Colt being a bit too collectible and all that)

The 1911 was more effective at killing the Muzzies than the 38 but what really ended the war was when they started coating the 45 bullets with bacon grease, so I have read.

WWI Armistice Centennial Match

The pistol stage of this video shows a good comparison of the "fast 9mm" vs. the "heavy .45". Plus, it looks like the participants are having a great time. That Aussie can really run that bolt on his SMLE (towards the end). :-)
