Holmes & Watson is the rare kind of bad movie that is actually causing moviegoers to leave before it's even finished. Much has already been made of the latest team-up between Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. Unfortunately, this wasn't the spiritual successor to Step Brothers that many had been hoping for. Instead, we seem to have a candidate for worst movie of the year, if public opinion is to be believed and now, there are quite a few people taking to Twitter to reveal that they, and others, have been walking out of showings.
Going to the movies is not a cheap endeavor these days. So for a movie to be bad enough for a paying customer to walk out really says something. Twitter user Louise Orr had this to say, revealing that she only made it through roughly 30 minutes before bailing out.
Critics were not allowed to screen Holmes and Watson ahead of its debut, as Sony seemed to be well aware that they had a bad movie on their hands. But the critics who did choose to see it anyway have not been kind. The "comedic" take on Sherlock Holmes debuted with a rare 0 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Things have since improved a bit, with three positive reviews bringing that up to 7 percent. But it's still grim. Twitter user Jean Daul was also not kind, declaring this to be only the second movie he ever walked out of.

Cool..i can walk out in advance. :)
These films are made with the makers stoned.
Weed. Powerful weed now and movies are less funny.
I enjoy it when will farrell fails.
When did he ever not fail?
I clicked on the link and found an ad for an economics course with the gnomish troll Paul Krugman. These ads are everywhere. The guy is a clown. His Nobel prize was as worthless as Obama’s. Is he desperate for money? Reminds me of washed up actors hawking wares on TV.
“COW BELL!?”
Dude’s a creep.
It’s not humor if it’s based on silly, revolting appearance.
Yikes - I just “walked out” of the trailer - that is seriously horrible...
Will, Amy and Kathy three unfunny and washed up .......... you fill in the blanks. Maybe throw in Jimmy and Sarah S. Goops we can fill up the theater with these stiffs:
In other movies/remakes they’re replacing Males with Females
Weed. Powerful weed now and movies are less funny.
No. You can't be funny unless you are "woke" and the only way to be "woke" is to make jokes about President Trump. But these jokes can't be funny either. They need to be smug and drenched with spittle and rage.
The Left has killed comedy, not weed.
Maybe this is rock bottom for Hollyweird “comedies”. Maybe the decades long decline in quality will reverse itself.
SNL type skits rarely make for good movies.
Same for SNL actors....
I guess one needs to be both high and stupid to enjoy that nonsense...
He’s one of those guys that is always “in-character” all the darn time, like Robin Williams or Jim Carry, and it makes them obnoxious.

(a) there are a hundred years worth of films to watch (going back to comedy from Keaton and Chaplin)
(b) there are still new non-theatrical (or niche theater) releases that can be streamed legally online for FREE via tubitv and kanopy.com; there is a lot of looney lib product in each, but not exclusively including in the documentary categories
(c) even without streaming if you attach a digital receiver to a tv, you can watch older movies (1940s-1990s) on channels like Movies! for free (with commercials)
(d) even youtube has complete movies from around the world
plenty of sources, plenty of options. Not everything old or new has CGI or gutter gags.
but the left hasn’t be very funny for a long time. Some comics would keep their politics in check and make broader remarks or be equal opportunity offenders attacking any President in office. And that goes back to the days of Nixon. I don’t see a lot of LBJ jokes with the same venom that Nixon faced on day one (or even as president elect).
