Sounds pretty cool.Being right down the street from the Air Force Academy has some benefits.
In fact, the military pays for those promotions at games as publicity for recruiting. The flights are allocated training dollars that will be used anyway to maintain flight proficiency. I think they should shun paying for any appearances at NFL games.
Is DJT coming here?
I have no idea what is going on but just speaking form experience. Someone could have flown over a restricted area in a private plane and got escorted to an airport for questioning.
Your tax dollars do pay the NFL.
I see them every day plus military helicopters here , but saying that there are Naval Air Stations, Army bases, and a big Navy yard
See post #5
Just a couple of Green Mountain Boys feeling their oats.
My sister lives pretty much at the end of the runway at Westover Air Force base. One of Westover's main missions is maintaining the C-5...and as a result they're taking off pretty much over her house constantly.Occasionally you see fighter jets as well.
I wanna tell ya...while taking off the C-5 is *loud*!
“Your tax dollars paid to the NFL.”
Not sure what you mean.
Fly-bys are done primarily for recruiting purposes, to show the taxpayer what their dollars buy. . .and the pilots have flight requirements, they must fly various missions to maintain currency and proficiency, so the bucks for flying a fly-past would have been spent anyway, so might as well do a mission that advances the profile of what we have and actually help keep proficiency.
I would fly cross country to all points in the US, sometimes would drop in for a fly-past of some game somewhere if requested, and that beat the heck out of flying straight and level around the local airspace.
The Department of Defense is not shut down. The Defense Budget was passed by Congress and signed into law by the President.
Of course it was for the game. Did you really need to wring your hands and post this?
Please see Post 29.
Even with Luke Air Force base on the outskirts of town?
Please see Post 31.
Sadly, happens more than we like. . .
There are air guard planes in WMASS about a hop skipn a jump at 300 miles an hour.
I see them all the time. Does Otis still have them too? There are Air Force Jets all over that part of the state.
Its a beautiful day to fly.
Isnt the 104th from Westfield? Barnes ANGB.
Those are the quiet ones.
Is she old enough to recall the B52s? Those were loud.
The military simply schedules training during the game. They fly in formation for 40 seconds over the stadium at a specified time. Not really spending extra $$ except maybe some fuel to veer out of their typical areas for practice.
I guess there’s one in every crowd.
