I just looked it up. It was the funeral of Lt. Ewart Sconiers. He was buried beside his Mother in Magnolia Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs.
He actually had an interesting history including safely landing a severely damaged B-17. The Co-Pilot was killed and the pilot severely wounded. Sconiers who was the bombardier, pulled the dead co-pilot from his seat, replaced the pilots oxygen mask and then took over flying the plane.
His plane was later shot down over the Bay of Biscay and the crew taken prisoner. He died in Stalag Luft 3. His grave was only recently found.
The descendants of his fellow POWs who presided at his funeral in Germany made the trip to DeFuniak Springs and also helped preside over his final funeral.
May God bless.
It’s called humor.
That’s the only way the nfl gets my money. The government steals it, as per usual.
Sonic booms off coast of South Jersey yesterday afternoon
yes very loud they are. We used to live in S Weymouth when the Naval Air Station was there , but of course it was closed by the Democrats and Clinton. It was where I met my wife
I have seen them at Luke and been told they had come down from Mountain Home AFB. Of course with the F35 twin tails its tricky to tell the difference now.
Yes, I’m on the east side (Mesa) and its rare to see them over here. Once a year ..maybe
I know that. The tax dollars being referred to were the dollars for the flyover. No tax dollars should go to the NFL and congress should have no say in its success or failure.
I thought they were playing the Chargers.
I worked out at Palo Verde in 1980. We would watch them dog fight over us at linch time. It was awesome. You could see 4 F-15’s come over one mountain and 4 more from another and then watch them tangle.
