Brilliantly clear (but very cold) sky over SouthEast US after rains earlier in the day.

Very good viewing, for a few minutes outside in the cold air.

"Blood Moon" is also used for the reddish color from the sunlight back-reflecting from the moon towards the earth.

Clear here in Colorado. no “blood”, though.

I just peeked out of mine.

Being 2 degrees outside, I’m just too old to bring the telescope outside in weather like this like I used to do when I was 15.

Cold and lightly foggy where I am. Even so, still a great show. When I want to warm up, I am also watching it online from a camera/ telescope in Florida.

May be too overcast for me in the Midwest. I’m not able to see it just yet.

It’s not half full- it’s half empty ...
Darn! Here come the clouds.

(Thanks for a reminder to look.)

I can’t see the moon at at. NYC had a huge rainstorm yesterday and the sky is still heavily dotted with big cloud masses. I saw the moon a couple hours ago out my front window, but it must be directly overhead now. Right now, the wind is howling and the temperature outside is 16 degrees, RealFeel -7 degrees. I am NOT stepping outside to see the moon! It’s a shame, I really would like to have seen it.

Looks about 2/3 here in 5 degree Indiana now, peeking between the clouds.

Pretty cool

(but where did I put those nipple warmers?)

I wonder if the color change is proportional to how much atmosphere is between your eyes and the moon’s surface. Here on the east coast, at the same moment you and I are looking at the moon, the moon is significantly lower to your eye in TX than here. Lower in the sky = more atmosphere attenutation of the lower-frequency reds and yellows. Blue is not attenuated as much.

I’ve been watching the livestream on timeanddate.com. They’re showing it from Oauzazate, Morocco. The max hasn’t happened yet there. Apparently, the max is way over from the Space.com site.

Your nipple warmers are right next to my ball warmers.

BTW when is indy supposed to be complete. Not gonna strap a belt round the boys to keep them from shrinking up into my abdomen waiting out in the cold.
