Citizens of other countries who broke into our country are being rewarded by our elected with our tax dollars.
Why are people here illegally given preferential treatment? Is it not the job of a legislature to represent citizens of the state? This doesn’t surprise me. When I took the job as Correction Officer in NY State’s prison system in 1980, the convicts were able to get college degrees using tuition assistance. Inmates at Auburn Prison could get a Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University...something many parents would have loved their kids to be able to get. George Pataki put an end to it, but the current Cuomo has expressed a desire to start it back up again. I don’t know if he’s done it or not. Makes me glad I don’t pay any state taxes other than sales tax. I live in Oneida County, NY, and pay 8.75 % sales tax, the second highest in the state. This area has been depressed for years, but you wouldn’t know it by the sales tax rate.
