Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos says he was the target of "extortion and blackmail" by the publisher of the National Enquirer, which he said threatened to publish revealing personal photos of him unless he stopped investigating how the tabloid obtained his private exchanges with his mistress.
Bezos, who is also owner of The Washington Post, detailed his interactions with American Media Inc., or AMI, in an extraordinary blog post Thursday on Medium.com. The billionaire did not say the tabloid was seeking money - instead, he said, the Enquirer wanted him to make a public statement that the tabloid's coverage was not politically motivated...
...The Bezos affair became public when the Enquirer published a Jan. 9 story about his relationship with Lauren Sanchez, a former TV anchor who is also married. Bezos then hired a team of private investigators to find out how the tabloid got the texts and photos the two exchanged...
... The photos include a "below the belt selfie" of Bezos, photos of him in tight boxer-briefs and wearing only a towel, and several revealing photos of Sanchez, according to the emails Bezos released...

I think if Bezos dug into this whole episode....he’d find out his mistress was paid some fantastic sum by the National Enquirer to flip info on him.

It’s the only explanation I can think for why, when the news cycle was consumed by other stories, the idjit goes and does something that brings it up again.

On the question of who benefits from the leaked the texts/photos, it would be a mistake not to include the mistress herself as one of the suspects.
I’m with you , I bet his gf wanted to get the ball rolling.Women are not very good at waiting.
I have no understanding of people who send these pictures. Why settle for fake when the real thing (especially within marriage) is so wonderful? I also have no respect for those who engage in threats, if Bezos was actually threatened.
Maybe he figures there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
And so many thought Bezo was a genius. Yet he behaves like so many others when his little head takes over and begins to over rule his big head.
Once his and Ms. Sanchez's this-and-that is out in the public domain, it has no leverage. They can just shrug and move on. Only those who "judge" "consenting adults'" "love" have anything to be ashamed of.
