Frankenheimer knew how to do cars, that’s for sure.
Still the best car chase ever put on film.
Man, give me one with a 440 Magnum, a 426 Hemi or a 383 Magnum.
On second thought, give me all 3.
Plus a Daytona with a Hemi (I think I still have a pic of one from a car show in the late ‘70s or early ‘80s.
I ran across my old Mustang by accident when I got lost in a neighborhood. There it was sitting in someone’s driveway. I didn’t have the money to buy it back, though. I was probably still making payments on my Trans-Am. That must have been somewhere around 1979. Never saw my Mustang again.
I’m guessing that’s a 1970 from the front end. Very nice. I prefer ‘68 and ‘69 but I would definitely take a ‘70.
It was nice to see a ‘71-’74 in Burn Notice.
Lol! Never noticed that. Will have to actually watch this clip that I linked to and look for that.
Anyway, the idea reminds me of the old Flintstone cartoons where they're running through the house, or wherever, for what seems like an eternity, passing the same furniture and wall hangings over and over.

I did see a ‘66 or ‘67 Charger for sale in Branson a few years back. One of the auto shows was selling it.

Same thing in a lot of movies. They are at a location that you know and turn onto a street that’s five miles away.
They must have gone through several. I’m guessing they had 3 cars, from what I remember. I saw it at the drive-in (where else?) when it came out.
We never knew how rare those cars from those days would become. Or we would have kept many of them.
They had 3 or 4 cars for “Vanishing Point” - which was great. From what I read, they had to keep transferring parts from one car to another.
The final wreck into the dozers was a camaro. It’s rather obvious from the footage it ain’t a Challenger.

Sadly, neither clip shows one of my favorite parts...
At the very beginning of the chase, the two bad guys silently look at each other for a couple seconds, then they both put on their seat belts.
Same scene only a block long and inserted in the film three or four times.

Yeah, sorry about that. Assuming the first clip would have started at the beginning, I only previewed the last part to make sure it showed the ending of the chase. Don't have time now to look for the very beginning. However, you should be able to find it yourself on YouTube.
