I partially agree with the Guardian: we should stop trying to save Africa and the rest of the Third World. It’s a thankless task, and I’d rather we mind our own business.

This article is correct, but for the wrong reasons. Why does Nepal or Senegal need Americans to dig wells or install water purification systems? What’s wrong with their local government or citizens?
Lots of suburban kids in our area go on these “missions.” Raise money to send a white kid to hug black children in Haiti for a week.
Stacey Dooley is a brave young Englishwoman who has confronted Muslims who have taken over her town of Luton. She’ll get in their face and ask the right questions; only the presence of cameras keeps her alive & unharmed, IMO.
