An unvaccinated 6-year-old boy from Oregon has racked up more than $800,000 in medical bills after almost dying in the state's first case of pediatric tetanus in 30 years.
The unidentified boy contracted tetanus - a serious infection caused by bacteria entering a wound - through a cut on his forehead while playing outside on a farm in 2017.
It was the first time a child in Oregon had been diagnosed with rare disease in more than 30 years, according to a report on the case by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released Thursday.

Good luck getting just that one.
We’ve had 5 ‘tetanus boosters’ in my family in the past 6 or 8 years and every single one was the multi TDaP. ER doc told us the single tetanus only was nearly impossible to get anymore.
The same politicians that want to force medical procedures on your children also want open borders to import 3rd world diseases.
They have an agenda, and it is not innocent.
You probably caught autism.
You’re, then, not anti-vaccine.
Tell the anti Vaccine folks that their Health Insurance will not cover any Illness related to any associated Disease that the Vaccine would have prevented.
Let the screaming commence.
Would have been cheaper to take the Kid to Planned Parenthood and ask for the Governor of Virginia remedy.
Because why bill for one booster when you can bill for THREE instead. Including 2 not medically needed for that visit.
Yippee skippee.
More likely we're reaching a critical mass of pols and pharmaceutical companies that want to control our bodies and get profits to those who provide the vaccines.
Its odd that he wouldnt mention the purple chicken-head-like growth appearing at the injection site also.
Walmart, May 2017. In and out in a few minutes. Tetanus-only booster. Maybe the ER doesn't have the tetanus-only version so they can charge you more. Of course, mine was a necessity for being a troop leader in Trail Life. Well, that and it was time for a booster, since it had been more than 10 years since my prior booster.
LOL
I am anti Vaccine and proud of it, if you really knew what is going on you might understand rather than drink the kool aid
Fire Away, research from the folks developing them and the side effects in their own documentation show otherwise
The vast majority of children and people in the US do not have a current Tetanus vaccination.
Probably above 80%.
The vaccine is only good for about 18 months.
Most folks get one with stitches. It’s the only way to stay ahead of it.
Personally I have not had one in over 20 years. Bet you haven’t either.
“What about yesterdays story of the adult guy who nearly died from measles because his stupid mom wouldnt have him vaccinated as a child.”
His stupid mom should have taken him to a measles party when he was 4 or 5.
It’s a pretty minor event at that age.
I know as I had measles, mumps, German measles (Rubella) and chicken pox all by the time I was 6 (1962). Yeah, had ‘em all. As did my 3 sisters.
Almost every kid did. Mothers went out of their way to ensure it.
But if you have NO exposure until you’re 30, you’re flirting with imminent death.
“The parents should be in jail for child abuse. Take their farm. And then ship them off to Zimbabwe. Stupid people”
The Tetanus shot is good for about 18 months.
When did you last have yours?
If it’s been more than 18 months, should we take everything you have a ship you off with them?
Annual check up here. Job demand it.
Yearly tetanus?
Extraordinary.
There are some vaccinations that make good sense and some that don’t.
Governor Rick Perry wanted to force all young girls in Texas to be vaccinated for HPV even though the vaccine was only 80% effective and the disease is only spread through sex. He got a backlash and backed off.
The Clinton U.N. coalition brought cholera to Haiti by contaminating their water supply. Rather than put money into insuring Haitians had clean drinking water, the Clintons and Gates Foundation decided the children of Haiti made excellent guinea pigs to test experimental cholera vaccines on.
This media propaganda is designed to obscure the real issues about forced vaccinations. Too bad many Freepers fall for it.
.
This is a fake story!
Tetanus is easily cured in a few hours simply by chewing garlic cloves. (or drinking water with garlic juice)
Vaccines kill. Do not vaccinate!
