Officers are searching for the man they say struck and killed three people while they were trying to change a flat tire on Interstate 635 in Dallas early Sunday morning.
Police said not only did Jesus Chavarria-Vasquez, the driver of the vehicle that hit them, abandon the scene, but he left his truck with his injured 12-year-old son inside.

Posted this here. The thread topic at the Dallas Reddit was just too hot for them to handle. One the statements from the Comments section of the article was prescient: "They just come here to do the drunk driving homicides that Americans won't do."
I guess we better alert the Border Patrol in case he tries to flee the country.

Rule 1. Never attempt to change a tire on an Interstate. Just pull over as far as you can and wait for the tow truck.

It’s suicide to change a tire on the driver-side of a vehicle when along side a roadway/freeway etc. Not saying this is what happened, but it’s very likely that’s exactly what happened.

Yeah Im gonna go out on a limb and say the reason he fled is because he’s in the country illegally..but Dems, no worry, even though he’s on the run he will still vote Dem in 2020, his victims unfortunately cant

A friend suffered a major closed head injury a bit over a year ago in this same scenario. From what I know, he occasionally wakes up and looks around but otherwise he’s non communicative and non responsive. Stay in car is good advice.

I told my wife to never stop on the interstate if the car is in any way driveable. Shred the tire, ruin the wheel, but keep driving to an exit, rest area, etc.
