Prosecutors say that [Mark] Riddell worked closely with [Rick] Singer, [founder of the Edge College & Career Network, also known as The Key a for-profit college counseling and preparation company offering families help in getting students into competitive colleges and universities]. In conversations recorded by investigators, Singer called Riddell his best test-taker. The Bradenton Heralds review of the federal complaint document revealed that Riddell earned at least $240,000 from his involvement in the scheme and Proctored [or corrected] at least 16 exams for students. I would really appreciate the opportunity to Proctor the test because Im applying to grad schools and I could quite frankly use the work, Riddell wrote in an email to a guidance counselor in San Francisco, prosecutors say. Riddell allegedly told investigators that each time he was in Los Angeles to Proctor an SAT or ACT, he facilitated cheating...during the exam. Conspiring parents had concerns, too, according to court documents. In recorded conversations obtained by the FBI, Singer had to reassure parents that there would be no paper trail.

Let me get YOUR kid into a prestigious college. If you have the money, I have the knowledge and contacts. let’s make something good happen for your kids.
THESE COLLEGES ARE 100% COMPLICIT. follow these payoffs. They go to the top.
The real joke of all this is, the fact that people cheated to get in that couldnt get in with their own grades and other things, should have flushed out by not being able to do the work even once in... but I bet few if any of these folks failed out, so it shows these colleges arent all that elite to begin with
The sad thing is once again it’s the middle class that gets screwed. Middle and upper middle both. Elite...no problem. Poor or victim group...no problem.
There are thousands of Chinese foreign students in every major university in the country. The universities are absolutely dependent upon the tuition they pay. They essentially buy their way in. Odd that the Feds don’t care.
Bill Singer, main perp
I’m seeing beady eyes.
Agreed. There aint no way the Ivy League College masters are going to be taken down for these crimes. The investigators are all alumni. Aint right, but I fear its so.
In his spare time Riddell makes football helmets and ripple sole coaches shoes.
Wonder how many Taters he proctered.
or, “We’ve been shelling out 75K a year to IMG and you’re telling me that our kid can’t go where we want him to go?”
—Well, he’s not a very committed athlete and doesn’t take virtual school all that seriously.
“Now you tell us.”
Im hearing nothing but silence from the NCAA. If these schools acknowledge receiving unqualified athletes under false pretenses, their entire collegiate program system should be in suspension, immediately....and for a prolonged number of years. Theres no telling this was a single episode transgression.
very true
lol...Which just goes to prove...most Degrees from these “Elite expensive schools” hide the graduates ignorance...... McDonald Hamburger University provides more knowledge to its graduates....
Read the Dershowitz column.
Actually, I thought wealthy parents could get their kids into any college they want, and in the open legally by just offering the school a big pile of money.
Of course the NCAA is silent. These people have been engaged in bribery to get their kids admitted to schools where these “unqualified” applicants are 100 times more qualified than your typical big-time NCAA athlete.
LOL.
