Newest router/wifi systems are potent enough to pick up a neighbor’s wifi

I got 7 neighbors wifi on the list. One I know is unprotected and I’ve joined it on a lark for a few minutes.

unplug your cable modem and see if it goes away.
Keep your WIFI on.
See what it says now.
You have a new computer? Does it have built in WiFi while your still using your dongle thingy out the USB?
Do have a WiFI extender in your house.

Wow, I need to get out today.

Can you give me a few minutes before you fix it?? I’m almost done downloading the 8-chan Q-Anon/Wikileaks smoking gun Trump Collusion Coup-de-Tate/Seth Richards, etc. info.

just a few more minutes...

Then I’ll make your hidden-network get resolved...

:-)

It’s from that implant they put in your head. You know, remember the morning you woke up with the bad headache!

Yeah, I can see you, too. You gotta head to Walmart - those underwear are looking pretty threadbare. (And for God's sake, don't buy thongs this time. You can't rock 'em at your age anymore.🤣 )

Are you talking you seeing an SSID called “hidden connection”?

You can go on your wifi router to see it its on it

You can also have other Wireless devices advertising and SSID things like a wireless printers

You can download a wireless tool app on your phone and go sniffing around
to find the device by signing strength...

ICE SURVEILLANCE STATION 2

and for guests...

Hi Chickensoup!

As a couple other FReepers have suggested, the most likely explanation is:

It could be an appliance (so-called "Internet-Of-Things" device). You said you don't have a smartphone, but it could be your TV, coffee maker, alarm clock.

No more kinky sex in the house until you find it.

Put some clothes on. Or not, depending... :-)

Take it back to vendor, ASAP... Remain calm... Stay in your underground shelter until the problem is fixed... {:-)

The answer you’re after:

New routers from Verizon and Xfinity have a “Hidden Network” as part of a new initiative to boost speeds without installing actual infrastructure. It’s a new way to extend signal to hard to reach places like the rural midwest where 1 tower is enough to supply a whole zip code by bouncing signal off routers in the neighborhood. To get rid of this “HIdden Network” you have to log into your Verizon, or Comcast account and Opt Out. You can do so in your account or call customer service. Someone from technical support will access your router, stop the Hidden Network, and you should see a small boost of 30mb in performance from your router.

Here are some additional information about what’s happening.

I set up one my networks to FBI Scout. Two days later a new neighbor who paid cash for the house, pack his family up and left. Abandon the house...

This was a week after they had a new pool install. They only live in the house for two months... Nobody knows who they really are.

I will have to set one up for ICE Surveillance now...
