SEOUL — A South Korean newspaper reported Friday that North Korea executed a senior envoy involved in nuclear negotiations with the U.S. as well as four other high-level officials.
But as ever with North Korea, a country that closely guards its secrets, there are reasons to be cautious about the purported purge.
NBC News was not immediately able to independently verify the report. Kim Jong Un's regime also hasn't used its propaganda services to comment.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was asked about the report during a visit to Germany Friday.

Instead of mimicing European nations as to their nationalized healthcare; perhaps we could adopt one or more such practices from North Korea as to their intelligence failures and the people involved.

The article says they can’t confirm the report but I wonder if at least some of the victims assured Kim that Trump would make a deal because he needs a deal for his political position.

I think they have been getting poor advice from some Obama era people(logan act) in an attempt to thwart Trump’s foreign policy. The same thing is going on with Iran. I guess in retrospect, maybe the Norks shouldn’t have heeded their advice.
Could work in Trump’s favor. Future NK officials may be shaking in their boots when approaching negotiating table. Or perhaps......
