No, not a canal to connect the Great Salt Lke to San Diego or the Salton Sea.

The Utah Inland Port area is one of the few remaining undeveloped areas of Salt Lake County. It sits at the intersection of two interstate freeways, major national railways, and an international airport which puts the area in high demand for expanding warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing.

In addition, Utah’s population will nearly double in the coming decades, creating the need for more jobs and for greater ability to move people and goods.

How many container ships per month are they expecting once they open the port?

When did Utah connect with an ocean? I suppose that news event got buried somehow.

Thanks for the perspective. I know there is an area at Willard Bay on the north end of the Great Salt Lake which is a protected area for salt marsh dwelling creatures, but isn't this inland port near the SOUTH end near the major transportation infrastructure you describe?

IOW, mostly high desert and salt flats?
