And there it is. Hollywood’s continued drive to take every franchise and “woke” it up. Always the same thing, hijack the franchise and use the latest woke version to tell the audience why they were stupid to like the original and how the new poop is much better.
It has killed Star Wars, it is killing Marvel, in some measure it aided in turning Game of Thrones into poop and now it will kill MIB. WellHollywood, go for woke and wake up broke.
The really funny thing is … she could not even HAVE this conversation had it not been for the efforts of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. If this was the first movie in the franchise, there would be no discussion because the goal would be mass marketability. However, since she is now coming into an established franchise, she wants to upset the apple cart because she is “oh so important” … rather than just the bimbo they hired to try to get a couple more bucks out of something that used to be successful. Don’t know who she is, and as much as I enjoyed the franchise in past iterations, by speaking up the way she did, now I know I would watch this iteration.
