President Donald Trump criticized Elijah Cummings for his attacks on CBP and ICE and their facilities. He compared them to the Baltimore area of Cummings’ district, claiming the West Baltimore section of the Congressman’s district was in a worse state. A mashup of videos featuring constituents giving a tour of one of the West Baltimore neighborhoods terrible conditions as well as a fact check on the rat situation and desirability as a place to live.
Back in the late 70s I was reading a National Geographic issue completely covering rats. Rice paddy rats are commonly caught and sold for meat in parts of SE Asia. The article mentioned a company that processed rat meat and sold it in cans labeled STAR Meats (clever turn of a word). At least at the time, some was being shipped to Oriental grocers in parts of the U.S.
