Actually that is what they claim as one of the main factors for their slowdown in sales, not the ad campaign but the fact that millennials are more likely to have a beard.

“Gillette’s CEO and president, Gary Coombe, says that angering some consumers with its #metoo campaign was a “price worth paying””

The TOP RESPONSIBILITY of a company is to increase shareholder worth, provided it is compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

This above quote is simply grounds for a Shareholder LAWSUIT. That simple.

Many women these days are in positions of authority in the advertising field. Women are also in positions in large companies to be the buyers of adds. That’s how you get liberal feminism being pushed in ads for practically everything. That’s also why you get adds making men out to be simpleton fools all the time and they show women being large and in charge, smart and competent and above it all. Men are made out to be underlings to their smarter and more grown up wives.

It’s a total load of malarkey just like everything else about liberalism.

Someone who buys Gillette over cheaper substitutes presumably feels they’re worth the extra money.

A guy who buys Gillette over cheaper substitutes is probably not aware of the cheaper substitutes. Most younger men have no idea that such things as double-edged razors even exist, since their fathers never used them, and straight razors are something they might have seen Daniel Craig use in a Bond movie once. Gillette dominates the disposable multi-blade cartridge market, which is considered the only way to shave by far too many men.

This “toxic masculinity” thing has been around for a long time. In the late sixties I went shopping at Jordan Marsh for Christmas. As I was exiting the store there were several glum looking women protesting the selling of toy guns! Yes, toy guns, not the kind that could really kill you. I was really puzzled by this but after many, many years I finally realized what they were doing. They were boy shaming! They were also parent shaming and Jordan Marsh shaming as well. This was an early introduction to “toxic masculinity” a term which came along many years later. They were shaming the store and the parents because they did not want Americans to have guns—even play ones. They also didn’t want boys to be normal healthy rambunctious boys. They had to kill the natural masculine spirit that little boys have.

These people are maniacal, sick intellectuals using their knowledge of human psychology to put their viruses into the minds of kids. The Rockefeller foundation as well as others have been waging psychological warfare on us and our children for a couple of generations.

I’ve been a Gillete razor guy my entire adult life. Their outrageous “social Justice” ads revolted me. I threw away my Gillette razor, went to Walmart and bought myself a nice (and inexpensive) BIC three blade razor.

Similar story.

I've just about always used Gillette, I remember when I was in basic training, and we were issued a Gillette safety razor. In recent decades, they were pricey, but I liked the result so I stayed on.

For some backstory, I come from a family with generations of successful women (men too.) We all supported one another, usual advice was to work hard and aim high. (We all did just that.)

Then comes Gillette to scold me?

My being a customer of Gillette (and by extension, P&G) ended right then and there. Lots of excellent options, so even if Gillette reprises its "best a man can get" or anything like it, I'm not changing back.

.

I dunno. You make a good point, but half of the human population is male. So I think there’s something more Global going on.

“They’re not stupid. They want to make money in the long run. It’s a mystery to me, but I’ll take a stab at it. Like Nike, they see growth in the anti-American global market.”

Virtually all cultures, other than our college ‘educated’ millennial bunch and pretty much all of the native European (now-neutered) men, still respect men. Hard to see how this crap helps Gillette, even with immigrants here (legal or otherwise). Now, if they wanted to go on a hate-America binge instead, then yes, I’d agree with you. Much wider audience for that garbage, sadly.

JC Penny’s and Nordstrom and a few other companies learned the hard way too that they’re dealing with like 11 or 12% of the country.

as good (or better) than the Mach 3, I won't be switching.

Go old school and shave like a man.

Go on-line and find a good double edge safety razor; a decent boars hair or similar shaving brush; a good shaving creme or soap. I prefer the Jack Black Creme or Chiseled Face Soap.

Most important, go online and buy the Feather titanium coated double edge blades manufactured in Japan. They are the sharpest in the world. I usually buy 100 blades on-line for about $28 and free shipping. Caution, there is a learning curve to do it well and not cut yourself. Even so, keep a styptic pen around.

Bottom line, after the initial outlay you will cut you shaving costs 60% to 70%. And you will have the closest shaves of your life. It is the extra time of peace and quiet I give to myself in the morning to focus and do it well.

Went to Schick - actually gives a better shave than Gillette - as if I needed a reason not to go back....

Ditto. Stuck with Barbasol cream though. Hope they don’t go woke.

P&G sells a lot of products. I’ve been replacing everything I can with competitors’ products. Not just razors and blades.

Gillette Loses Billions after Shaming Men in Ad Campaign

Gillette is dead to me.

I used Gillette products for over 60 years. My father and uncles used Gillette products for their entire adult lives as did my grandfather. This combined period covered every American armed conflict from The Great War, WWI, through the Persian Gulf War.

I purposefully cite these wars. King Gillette and his company sent their razors to war with the men of my family. We, and millions more men did our duty defending our homes, families, and country. This is part of what men do, building and defending civilization.

But Proctor & Gamble's Gillette has seen fit to spit upon all men and their sacrifices in a paroxysm of toxic feminist smug self-righteousness.

This is beyond the pale. I will never again purchase a product carrying the Gillette name. And I am ridding my life of all P&G products.

By its insulting behavior, P&G has thrown away over a century of Gillette brand loyalty. My advice to its executives; "Invest in panty shields. You're going to personally need the product."
