Why keep a record of their 'predictions' when they MAKE them true by naming every twirly/swirly thunderstorm in the Atlantic? Of COURSE they will be correct, they make sure of it.
And isn't it curious that they can SEE THE FUTURE in January re. weather that doesn't yet exist but are all uncertain when a storm is days from hitting you?

I think President Trump has a hurricane deflection machine at Mar-a-Lago. This. If he's powerful enough to cause Global Warming as his detractors claim, he's powerful enough to divert a hurricane.

As it turns out, the only large oak tree on my property, which I KNEW was destined to come down . . . came down last night. Don’t know why it took that particular time to topple, but now I won’t have to worry about the hurricane wiping it out. :^(

Was part of a prayer group praying for Eastward shift. This seems to be good news.

Well, the 11 am path has the hurricane headed for Wilmington, NC. however, there is an average 5 day forecast error of 205 miles, which is reasonable considering the uncertainties of hurricanes and their steering currents.
Three day forecasts of hurricanes are quite accurate.

10 bucks says it doesn’t ever make landfall in the U.S. (or anywhere for that matter....)
Poor MSM. They must be so disappointed.

“LOL. Yes, the liberals were hoping for destruction at Mar A Lago to damage Trump personally.”
Which would’ve also meant the destruction of heavily Democratic Palm Beach County, LOL.

What a complete ignorant, dumb and stupid statement. Every twirly/swirly storm (how arrogant) is not named and there are standards. If sustained winds are 39 miles an hour, they are called tropical storms. If winds are 74 miles an hour, they are called Hurricanes.
Any normal person is aware they are only estimates. Three day hurricane forecasts are quite accurate while four day forecasts are off by an average of 155 miles, while the five day forecasts are off by an average of 205 miles. The National Hurricane center does not project past 5 days of an actual storm.
My god, you are a colossal and massive ignorant idiot.

I predict it will sweep right up the coasts of Florida and the Carolinas destroying every marina along the way.
Anything within a mile of mean bigh tide line better be lashed down real good.

No idea - I’m on the MS Gulf Coast and have been more interested in the tracking than what was being affected ... Miami was never in the actual crosshairs and if it keeps the current track or keeps moving further to the east, you may be in luck.

I wondered about this on a FR post a few days back. Dorian veered quite a bit north of most of Puerto Rico after a whole lot of fear-mongering. It still seems to be doing that, trending north when it approaches land.
Preparing for and evacuating for a really bad hurricane situation is near impossible. My folks lived in Cape Canaveral in the '80s and '90s. My dad used to say that if they were going to evacuate, evacuate early, far away, and whenever a storm could hit. If not that, with a short amount of time either walk or bike away or get some six-packs and get in the attic or on the roof! (my dad was a unique outlier who was not into mainstream thinking)

Next theyll be warning the folks in Maine to put plywood over their windows. Look out, Prince Edward Island! Here comes Dorian!
The Red Sox will win the world series before Dorian reaches Maine. And we don’t put plywood on houses, just blue tarps and tyvek siding.
