A Little Caesars restaurant in Fargo, North Dakota is capturing hearts and feeding the hungry with a new policy they posted with a sign in their window.
A new idea came to General Manager, Michelle Lussier, after she noticed an ongoing problem: people were eating leftovers from the store dumpster. Lussier decided to approach the situation with a surprising solution, offering free slices of pizza inside the store.
She recognized that the homeless are human beings the same as everybody else, and deserve dignity, respect, and compassion.
The sign hung on the drive-through window reads:
To the person going through our trash for their next meal, youre a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a couple slices of hot pizza and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.
In a video about the new policy, Lussier offers hope. Instead of merely thoughts and prayers, she offers something real: delicious pizza.
Dont feel embarrassed if youre hungry and you dont want to do what others do, you know stand on the corner for handouts, says Lussier.
You feel down about that, youre more than welcome to come here and grab a couple slices.
According to Valley News Live, the restaurant also donates leftover pizza to the local food pantry and has a donation box inside the store that benefits the homeless in the area.
This restaurant is extending goodwill to the homeless. In return, they endear themselves to the community with some good public relations, earning well-deserved customer loyalty.

What a wonderful gesture! If more people thought and behaved like the management of this restaurant I have no doubt we would shape a better world. Please share this story if you agree you might inspire someone out there!

You caught that, too. As if bums have cars to go through the drive thru. No, the sign is for the paying drive thru customers in a play to get $$$ donations. She could be an honest person or she could be scamming people. You never know these days.
Dumpster diving is a good hobby. I can’t resist peeking into just about every dumpster I walk by.
My daughter got the bug too. When in college she would patrol the dumpsters at her apartment on the first of the month. She would collect the charis, tables and home furnishing, clean them up, put a little Sharpie on the nicks and sell them on Craigslist. She made good money.

You and I are in complete agreement. If she isnt the owner she has no business doing it unless she cleared it with the owner first.
I tend to Agee with Ayn Rand’s views on altruism.
Being 'good' and 'looking good' (to simple shallow liberal idiots) are two different things.
Want to 'look' like a loving parent? Give your kid anything they want - never correct them... And to the shallow and stupid you'll 'look' loving... but you'll create children no one will like... because 'looking good' and 'being good' are very different.
If the pizza woman gives out enough free pizza and recruits others to the same insanity she'll create a hellhole just like LA or San Francisco or Chicago's South Side...
No it's not a tax write off and the Health Dept will have something to say about donating leftover prepared food.
They can donate food to a food bank if they want but there are specific Health Dept rules they must follow.
They will end up with the same problem as the Panera Bread Co. that said " Eat and pay what you want."
Recently saw a derelict dig a samitch out of the trash can in front of a 7-11. At least he’s not picky.
People will always be better to other people than the government.
I agree with the sentiment. Knowing human nature though, this will quickly be abused by many people. They may be able to get away with it in Fargo for a little longer than, LA or NY probably. Either way, it’s going to attract vagrants and drive away paying customers. Better to deliver some pizzas for free to a homeless shelter.
“I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it.”
—Benjamin Franklin
I might have to look into that. Thank you!
Im not as fond of hobo jungles and so called homeless camps personally
Ive tried to help them
It NEVER works out.....they steal and vandalize
Bring back mental institution campuses
That is what nearly all of these folks are or drug and alcohol addicted bums
They need to be somewhere besides roaming streets begging
Every freeper should see downtown LA
Ha. I’ve furnished my house with items found on the curb on garbage day.
Also did waitering & catering for rich people’s parties, mansions & yachts.
Party over, they’d tell me to toss out the leftover fois gras, caviar, jambalaya & baby back ribs.
Nope. Took it all back to the hood & feasted with the homies. Block party, no lie.
I feed strays. I can always take a kitty to the shelter if it becomes a problem.
The human “homeless” problem is getting bigger in this country. My town of Denver will eventually be like LA and Seattle. It’s been fueled by leftism and “tolerance”. Drugs (meth), hopelessness, unwillingness to work and do what it takes to have a normal life. There are millions of highly dysfunctional people in this country and leftist ideas have caused it and added gas to it with their “fixes”. I don’t see things getting better any time soon. The rot is to the core.
Sadly; grifters take advantage of the most well-intentioned acts. But she's young and has to learn. May her other actions through charitable organizations bear fruit.
I'm just remembering fondly a Starbucks manager we had in our community years ago. She used to bag the many pounds of spent coffee grounds they went through every day, for people wishing to use them to enrich their garden soil. It was very useful around here because it is a deer repellent.
Unfortunately, corporate stepped in and she was soon gone. If you're hard up or stingy, you can still get a passable cup of joe out of once-used grounds. So it had to stop.
