President Trump fired John Bolton as National Security Advisor Monday evening and made the announcement Tuesday on Twitter.
“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week,” Trump said in a pair of tweets Tuesday.
A few minutes later, John Bolton fired off a tweet claiming he was the one who offered to resign Monday night.
BOLTON: I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, “Let’s talk about it tomorrow.”

I honestly would not be surprised if Bolton did resign, and Trump did fire him.
It goes something like this (bolton version):
Bolton: I quit!
Trump: You can’t quit because you’re fired!
Trump version:
Trump: You’re fired!
Bolton: You can’t fire me, because I quit!
Who knows? I also don’t really care.
I’m just happy he’s gone. Don’t go away mad, just go away.
Your fired no I am not I quit.
Ok works for me.

Glad the old war-monger is gone.
It was not a good marriage. Whether or not you like Bolton’s hard line style (which I did at times), he was going to be constantly at odds with Trump who is trying to extract us from Afghanistan and elsewhere.

John Bolton gone? Well, he WAS a person of strong opinions and something of a hawk, but there can only be one Alpha male in the room, and he wasn’t it.

Offering to resign rather than changing one’s behavior is a firing offense. Sounds to me like Bolton was fired.

He gets a better gig if orange man bad fires him. Maybe just marginally better - the best pay goes to those who will color Trump as nuts, loose cannon, unhinged, unfit, dangerous, etc.
