It’s GP. The IMPORTANT fact is that Bolton is gone. The minutia of exactly how it happened and the exact chain of events is strictly non-newsworthy.
The appropriate response should be that it was an honor to serve the country and thank the President for giving them the opportunity. After leaving, no comment while the President is in office.
Never understood why Bolton was hired in the first place. There were obvious conflicts with Trump’s foreign policy views based on Bolton’s history.
I think it went like this:
John:Mr President, I’d like to tender my resignation.
President: John let’s talk about this in the AM.
John:Ok, but I don’t think I’m fitting in or bringing any value to the discussion.
President:John, will talk about this in the AM.
Before they talk in the AM, Trump agrees, that Bolton is not offering much value and perhaps is more a detriment. He’s concerned that Bolton, is going to play the martyr by resigning. So, Trump, one ups the guy, and announces his dismissal. Case closed.
Bolton is NOT an a$$hole or any one of the other names you flopping freepers are calling him.
Knock it off already.
Bolton is a brilliant analyst, even if you disagree with the actions he would want to take.
I disagree with him too- but NOT about his intelligence and knowledge of world affairs. Just on what he would recommend being done about it.
But that’s the job. He makes recommendations, they can be accepted or rejected. Trump does not want War, that’s clear, but he’s not afraid to -that is also clear.
He would rather convince them of the mutually beneficial results of the way he wants things- in other words the art of the deal.
The ‘art of the deal’ book was not about crushing your opponent but about getting them to the point where both sides agree on a mutually beneficial outcome. And if there is not that possibility, you walk away.
Agreed.
So Trump did not accept his resignation and instead fired him, case closed.
Honestly, I don’t care if he resigned or let go. I am sure it would matter to me if I was in his situation, but in the grand scheme of my life.. I really don’t care.
Now we will get a couple days worth of news cycles about he said and she said over this whole things.. which again I don’t care about.
The left hates Bolton, but now that he’s arguing with Trump the same left will pump up this story as its the main thing going on in the world and make him some sort of brief hero for their anti Trump narrative...
Haha!
Exactly!
Haha you nailed it!
Do not forget they will invite him on all the talk shows to trash President a Trump.
I can see Bolton in the Sunday morning fake stream media circuit.
Does anyone under 50 even watch that nonsense anymore?
Oh look a Globalist/Neocon taking point!
I agree.....and that is pretty much how it’s been wherever Bolton has been in his career....I understand he can be pretty abrasive and turns people off regardless of his positions. .. a tough bird and highly opinionated. But this is how hawks are.
For the record, Russia is not expanding.
China is and violating the agreements they signed back in the 1960s to not be a military expansionists.
Clinton tried to calm them down by giving them our MRV technology and Obama gave them the A.I. from Google and Apple.
Now we have a President that is ending our broken agreements and the Globalists attack Russia that are not expansionists or threatening the planet like Communist China.
Actually I think it indicates another ‘heated’ crossroads had been reached and it was time to end it....that type of relationship eventually reaches a crossroads..... won’t be the first time Bolton reached it where he’s served.
The Leftist media better be careful how they handle this one.
This actually shows Trump as a moderate, instead of the WarMongerer they want to label him as.
Bolton wanted to be more aggressive with Venezuela, Syria, and Iran.
Trump disagreed. Trump cares more about money than he does about shaping the world with our military might. He is the epitome of walk softly but carry a big stick.
The quote is “speak softly and carry a big stick.”
I’m not sure if “speaking softly” is a good description of Trump.
The story was that Erdogan asked President Trump what exactly was the compelling national interest of the U.S. in maintaining a military presence in Syria. President Trump turned to Bolton (who was in the Oval Office during the call) and asked him that same question, and Bolton couldn't even come up with a coherent answer.
If that story was even remotely true, then Bolton was nothing more than a useless waste of skin in ANY administration that employed him.
media isn’t interested in being careful about anything they’re putting out there today.....it’s always propaganda one way or another to discredit Trump and this administration.
