Kevin McCarthy: ‘We came closest ever to having a coup…and now we need accountability’

Republican House leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-CA., told Fox New’s Sunday Future’s host Maria Bartiromo that the origination of the FBI probe into President Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016 and what followed ‘was the closest thing to a coup that anyone has ever seen."

Moreover, he noted that the actions and evidence gathered regarding many former Obama Administration officials and bureaucrats like former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok, former FBI Attorney Lisa Page, former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe reveal that they were attempting to frame Trump.

Last week, the District of Columbia U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu recommended moving forward with charges against McCabe. The charges stem from recommendations made by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report last year that McCabe lied under oath and leaked to the media. McCabe’s lawyers attempts to appeal the decision was rejected by the Deputy Attorney General, a source familiar with the decision told SaraACarter.com last week.

Fox News first reported that McCabe’s legal team said they received an email from the Department of Justice which said, “The Department rejected your appeal of the United States Attorney’s Office’s decision in this matter. Any further inquiries should be directed to the United States Attorney’s Office.”

With each passing day, as more evidence is revealed, I become all the more convinced that the major perps will see the full court of justice come slamming down on them.

I'm trying to stay optimistic. But there has to be a trigger so that all of the obvious stuff starts moving forward. What's the trigger? I have been thinking an IG report would get the ball rolling, but so far they have been "interesting" but have not triggered anything.

I think it's awkward for the DOJ to suddenly wake up and say "Here are some indictments" just out of the blue. There needs to be some triggering event that says "Today things are different. Today we don't let things slide."

I agree. It was a failed attempt to overthrow a legally elected USA president. With a lesser man than Donald Trump, the traitors would now be in control of this Republic. Justice requires retribution and as the saying goes, justice delayed is justice denied. James Comey and Andrew McCabe, who were the director and deputy director of the FBI when the Russia probe began, have been the subjects of separate IG investigations, and McCarthy believes they will both face consequences.

“We will see an indictment,” he said of McCabe, who is facing the prospect of federal charges after Horowitz faulted him in a separate inquiry over statements he made during a Hillary Clinton-related investigation. The review found that McCabe “lacked candor” when talking with investigators, but the former FBI official has denied wrongdoing. Washington, D.C., U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu recommended charges against McCabe after the DOJ rejected his appeal....

There’s so much evidence and it’s extremely intricate, with several major perps involved, like Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Ohr, Misfud, Halper, Stryk, Page, McCarthy, and their Federal agencies, that all must be lined up in proper sequence with no holes. No room for errors on the part of the prosecution. The web of deceit was enormous and detailed.
