Agreed, however, if the aircraft is not flown in those regimes, (which would essentially make the PIC solo), does his flying in the right seat satisfy his concerns about MCAS fixes?

jesus, you’re dense. you just attacked the idea of having special friends because you have special friends.

aside from circular reasoning, you’re attacking an argument I never made.

not even close to what I said. but there’s no arguing with self appointed experts who know all and see all because they (claim to) have friends that are pilots. how impressive!

it’s mental masturbation. you keep insisting out loud that you’re all knowing, but it turns out you’re the only one in the room.

Lion Air has a mediocre to not-so-great reputation, but Ethiopian Airlines has been around for decades and actually has a stellar safety record. It is one of the few crown jewels of the African economy and a very international clientele.

But regardless, if these airlines ARE as bad as Mr. Browdie is claiming, then Boeing shouldn’t have haphazardly sold them such a so called “advanced” plane. *eyeroll* — but oh wait, it was Mr. Obama himself in Indonesia doing Boeing’s bidding in the latter days of his presidency, to get Lion Air to buy the MAX planes...

Must have had something to do with the $10 mil Boeing donated to him for his library in Chicago.

“let Sully fly it.”

I’d rather have Hillary Clinton do this.

In our unit, every 100 hours flight time would take the birds apart, inspect, repair and put together again.

The first flight off the maint pad would include the maint warrant officer, the lead tech inspector, and the crew chief.

You bet all the t's were crossed.

Run along and play with your “special friends”, troll.

first, you told everyone how smart you were. then, you cited a freaking blog as some sort of authoritative source of insider information. you finished up by bragging that you had pilots as "friends".

I called you on all of the above, and now you don't want to play anymore.

reality. it must suck sometimes.

a simple google reveals that there were maintenance issues at ethiopian airlines before the 737 crash.

but are you seriously suggesting that boeing should have refused to sell EA 737s because of the realistic fear that they would fly them into the ground?

is that really what you just said?

Lol, you really are a prize. I have two coffee pals who are captains for a major airline. I’ve had the opportunity to hear their informed opinions of the MAX crashes and the discussions at Leehams about the probable causes whereas all you do is yap that the crashes involve 3rd world pilots. But then you’re probably doing your best.

Just note it’s not only the 737 MAX under scrutiny. There have been production/shoddy manufacturing issues with 787 Dreamliner and other models drawing attention in aviation world too. Including military craft. Just nothing as dramatic to report as the MAX crashes. Some of the manufacturing plants in South Carolina and the like are under investigation. And an executive has had to resign as a result.

“The departure of the executive, David Carbon, the vice president for 787 operations at Boeing South Carolina since 2016, comes about a month after The Times published an article detailing shoddy production practices and weak oversight at the factory.”

let’s review: I have zero burden of proof, because I’m not attempting to diagnose the cause of the crash with the help of my special coffee friends, NYT leaks, and blog buddies. I was simply pointing out that Southwest Airlines, for example, had not flown one of their planes into the ground. first world airlines didn’t seem to have a problem.

until the ntsb report comes out, you know jack.
