That drug’s a SOB to get off of.

Was taking 4 mgs forever to treat tremors and spasms related to injury.

It stops helping anxiety after a few month when you use it regularly. The body thinks there’s something wrong with your GABA level and diligently fixes the levels, even if you don’t want it to.

I went from 4 to 3.5 three months ago and I was supposed to be down to 2 by now but it’s been rough adjusting to 3.5 and then 3.

I’m good now and ready for 2.5.

I strongly recommend either taking these pills and xanax either for BAD panic attacks or if it’s the only thing that helps with tremors and spasms.

I have missed 24 to 36 hours sometimes and the withdrawals are brutal.

I wish this poor guy the best.

Incredible. I wish you the best!

I’ve listened to a lot of Jordan Peterson and always felt he had skeletons in his closet but unlike many people, he was able to admit to himself they were there. Attempting to exhume and properly bury these skeletons over the years has led him to the degree of self understanding that he attempts to share through his work.

Yeah, I was intermittently prescribed lorazepam (1 mg, same drug class as clonazepam) four times daily about 25 years ago, then my next doc put me on it permanently. It wasn’t so much for anxiety, it was because I was hypertensive and had what they call a ‘Type A’ personality. 4 mg. daily turned me into a zombie, so I just take 1 or 2 mg daily, as needed. I just took one about 10 minutes ago, as I’m ready to go to bed shortly. It can be a real pisser if you abuse it. Like any drug of that class, you can build up a tolerance to it as the dosage inceases, then you hit that threshold where you over-medicate to compensate for the lowered effect. I also take gabapentin, which is an analogue of GABA, although it affects different neuro-receptors in the brain. I have had what’s turning into a brutal case of neuropathy that’ll follow me to the grave, and the only thing that keeps the nerves from misfiring or shorting out is the gabapentin. That’s over and above the permanent nerve damage that has essentially killed any sensory nerve input below the knees. I’m the same age as this guy; I hope he can kick the stuff. I’d go full paleo and try his daughter’s ‘Lion diet’, but even now, cutting out as many carbs as I can or am willing to, I’d still need the occasional greens. I mean, c’mon, corned beef brisket without the cabbage? Roast pork without the sauerkraut? No carrots, onions, or celery in the pot roast? No way.

You should never “ cold turkey” off this or any benzodiazepine. If you stop opiates abruptly you feel miserable. You don’t have life threatening symptoms. Stop benzos and you can have the equivalent of DTs with severe seizures..

Since this thread is turning into a confessional of sorts...
Doc had me on 4mg/day Clonazepam for almost 2 years. I began to notice memory loss to the point that it was embarrassing ie “we just covered that mat’l yesterday dont you remember?”

Turns out thats a normal side effect of the drug. I stopped cold turkey and never felt the withdrawals that so many do...don’t know why/how. I discovered Lithium Orotate...OTC supplement (Amazon). It works for me. The reviews are impressive to say the least.
