Sorry for the vanity, it wanted to report on an event at our parish, St. Anthony of Padua, in Florence, SC. Joe Biden attended Mass yesterday and our guy good and conservative priest first handed him prolife literature, which Biden quickly set aside. Then, when Joe presented himself for Communion, he was given only a blessing instead. Did not see this in the press.

3) Sadly once the behind-the-scenes political machinations start coming down on the head of his Bishop this Priest is likely headed for a new assignment hearing confessions in the Aleutians.
Is that standard practice when the priest does not know a visitor? Or has Joe been excommunicated?

Wow! Big news indeed. So far as I know, this is the first time this has happened. I think a friend of mine knows your priest and told me about him. A good man, and obviously a brave one.

FWIW, several weeks ago one of our Associate Pastors gave a passionate sermon questioning how anyone could vote for a politician who advocates abortion and still be consider themselves a good Catholic. It was a long sermon, but it was one the best sermons he has ever given. The congregation was so focused, you could hear a pin drop. When he was done, we gave him an enormous ovation.
Our bishops, down to the pastoral level, should be hammering this every week.

I’ll bet my lunch money a call will be made to the chancery office to try to get the priest in trouble. It will be interesting to see whether (a) the bishop flops and tries to make the priest apologize, and (b) whether the priest stands his ground. I hope the answers are “no” and “yes”.
Plugs supports and promotes abortion as a high profile politician. Not only should he be refused communion, he should be excommunicated.
