Is it nearly time for Homer Simpson's last "D'oh?" The Simpsons could be coming to an end, according to the animated hit's theme music composer Danny Elfman.
"From what I've heard, it is coming to an end
I don't know for a fact, but I've heard that it will be in its last year," Elfman told the website Joe.ie.
The Simpsons is currently in its 31st season on Fox and was renewed in February for a record-setting 32nd season due to air in the 2020-21 television season. If Elfman is right, that means the show could go off air in two years.
A Fox publicist could not immediately be reached for comment.

I stopped watching about 10 years ago. I thought it stopped being funny.
So I can't speak to recent years, but at least for the first 10, tell me another program where the entire family went to church, and showed them in church? The Simpsons were rough family, but they always stuck together and made good choices for the family. Both parents were tempted with infidelity, and stuck with their spouse. The crooked mayor was basically Ted Kennedy. There was an episode with a great 2nd Amendment defense. "You want the King of England coming here and pushing you around?"

For many years, there has been a full-court-press against men and specifically the father as the head of the household. I used to laugh at the Simpson too, until I realized how it along with so many other things, were out to sabotage the honor and love due the father as the head of the home. The biggest subversion is the whole despicable and corrupt Women’s Movement.

Who? "The Simpson"
What?
One of the most popular TV shows in history.
Why should I care?
You tell me. You're posting on a thread about it.
31 years and Ive never seen a single minute of it.
Thanks for sharing. Virtue signaling isn't just for liberals.

Danny Elfman and Oingo Boingo - loved them back in my college days. As for The Simpsons, they haven't been funny since around the 2000 season. First 10 seasons are some of the finest and funniest shows television has ever produced, but they've been boring, politically correct drivel for the last 20 years.

I guess I am at a loss as to why this is a loss? A total wast of pixels and time IMHO! Watched it maybe once, decided I would rather have a root canal.
Happy Thanksgiving All,

Who? What? Why should I care? 31 years and Ive never seen a single minute of it. Says HoosierDaddy, who sees a Simpsons thread link, clicks on it, and takes the time to bore everyone that he doesn't care. I'll never understand that special kind of ME-ntality.

I believe 7 years is the longest a series should be on the air. anything after seven years is wasting the talents involved. I would rather those working on entertainment projects move on to other new creative endeavors.

I spent most of the eighties and early nineties overseas.
So after the rural purge they mostly lost me. I bought a television for my wife in January of 1990, and after I got out of the service and came home for good it stayed around until March of 1995 when I got rid of it.
