The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has imposed a four-year ban on Russia from all global sport, including the 2020 Olympics and the 2022 World Cup finals.
WADA's executive committee took the decision after concluding Moscow had tampered with laboratory data.
The agency found Russia planted fake evidence and deleted files linked to positive doping tests that could have helped identify drug cheats.

So to be clear (gotta make sure I keep track of all the logic). The Russian government is savvy enough to put in the U.S President of their choice without leaving a shred of evidence but can’t manipulate the WADA system. Did I get that right?
Yes, this is a case of multiple violations over the years and decades that pre-date the Trump presidency. WADA finally got some balls. When they found Russia had hacked their data and tried to change things (which is why keeping hard copies should NEVER go away in the era of the Cloud) it was the final straw.

Oh, so what you wonder is why anyone was ever interested in Olympics EVER? Fair question - I find easily 90% of what's televised to be a snooze. But for the few interesting sports, it's the world's best competing against each other.

They aren’t banned from competition. They are banned from using their flag and their anthem. This is stupid, either ban athletes or don’t ban them.
