A one year-old boy was viciously tortured and beaten to death by his own mother at their home, police say.
Viston Stevenson was rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Detroit suffering from horrific injuries Friday, and died there the next day.
The 20 month-old youngster is believed to have suffered a fractured skull, swelling on the brain, a broken collarbone, multiple broken ribs, a broken pelvis and internal bleeding.
His 20 year-old mother Rhionna Nichols, 20, was charged with his murder Monday and is due to appear in court this afternoon. She also faces counts of torture and first-degree child abuse.
Stricken family members claimed Viston was fatally by his mom after he damaged her flat screen TV.
Detroit Police Department told Metro US that they have not received any information to this effect, and refused to comment further on what had happened in the run up to the baby’s brutal death.
One family member paid tribute to the youngster on Facebook – and attacked Nichols over the alleged crime.

I believe in mandatory sterilization and a “no legal adoption” list for those convicted of such parent-child crimes.
Yes, redemption before G-d and reform behaviorially is possible, but the punishment at the time would still be deserved at the time of conviction, I think. Society should not take a “second chance” risk of a repeat case against the same person.

Not over a TV. A dead baby because of low IQ, cultural dysfunction and lack of emotions control. The TV excuse should be rejected immediately, not entertained.

Same thing happened in Chicago just a week or two ago. The baby-mama lifted her two-month-old daughter up over her head, by her chubby little legs, and slammed her down onto the concrete floor. The baby’s in the hospital in critical condition. (She may have died in the meantime.) The feral female said she did it because the child reminded her of the baby-daddy.
I hope Jesus is giving this little child the biggest hugs.

The Torah imposes the death penalty for such evil. That’s what should follow certain conviction. “Thus you shall remove the evil from your land.”
I’d be surprised if she lasts 1 year when she gets to her new domicile. Inmates don’t like folks who abuse children.
So pitiful there aren’t any words adequate enough to express sorrow over such a horrible death. What kind of person could do such a thing? No doubt on drugs and that will be the defense.. No one in their right mind could hurt, let alone torture a baby - no matter the age of the person responsible. What is the matter with THESE people and I do mean THESE? WHY do we always KNOW who they are? Does it happen in other cultures - no doubt - but daily as in THESE neighborhoods?
Here in Mass. a few years ago I was a juror on a similar case.
The accused was the baby sitting boyfriend who was not the father of the 17 month old male child, that he killed.
The trial lasted all week, and it took a toll of some of the jurors, especially the women.
Some who couldn't sleep at night and one who told me she would get up at 1 in the morning and clean her house because she couldn't sleep because of thinking about the details of the case.

After a fair trial and found guilty, drop her into a pen of half starved hogs and make it a pay per view event.
I truly hope that Michigan has the death penalty. If anyone deserves it it would be this monster.
