Canada has no 2nd Amendment. Multiple shootings in Ottawa? Nah, cant be.
This would not have happened in Ottawa had the city not been there in the first place. We need to raze the city and salt the earth where it stands. Then there will be no more such killings in Ottawa.

And glues on his fake eyebrows...
And blackens his face
I thought this stuff only happened here, in ‘Merica.
Huh....
LOL - that one took me a second... Guy’s a clown.
Canada effectively bans hand-guns except for strictly controlled professional use (ie. security guards, etc...)
They require a license be purchased for all remaining permitted guns (mainly hunting rifles and airguns) but conservatives were able to remove the requirement to have them physically registered with police and were able to have the registry system dismantled. I believe the registry system may still exist in Quebec.

What’s a moron to do? Like father like son, I still remember daddy ding a ling....
“Guess justine true-DOH will need to address this. As soon as he picks out some matching sox.”
Think he needs a new eyebrow too
Fun fact:
Canada is in the top ten, surprisingly.
The ten countries with the highest civilian gun ownership (number of firearms per 100 people) are:
United States (120.5)
Falkland Islands (62.1)
Yemen (52.8)
New Caledonia (42.5)
Serbia (39.1)
Montenegro (39.1)
Uruguay (34.7)
Canada (34.7)
It couldn’t possibly be! Even criminals obey gun laws!
Well, if gun ownership is only legal for those with licenses to possess guns, then the perp should be easy to find... just match the bullets to the registry, right? Liberals are Soooo clever!
Cant be! Criminals dont break laws to get guns!
As we say, when you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns! eh?
WRONG!
The requirements for pistol/handgun ownership are:
Possession of a "Restricted" Firearms Acquisition Certificate, which must be renewed every 5 years.
A safe and secure storage device and trigger lock.
A membership in a firearms/hunting club that has a firing range.
A "Transport Authorization" to carry the firearm to and from the firing range.
Restrictive absolutely, but not a ban by any stretch of a fevered imagination.
Concealed or any other carry is pretty much impossible in town for anyone other than a cop, or a guard on a Brinks truck, but if you are a prospector, you can get a carry permit for out in the bush.
That said, there are many firearms and accessories that are banned, such as most standard capacity magazines for centre-fire firearms, pistols with a barrel under 4", and many cosmetic issues that make a firearm LOOK SCARY!
Then there's the new Ruger magazine that fits their .22 rifle and pistol. Even though the law plainly states that new developments for long guns cannot alter the legality of that part for a handgun, the RCMP still banned the rifle mag because it fit the Ruger .22 pistol and holds more than 10 rounds.
I said banned effectively. All the limitations you list then prove this. Yes, its not an outright ban, but in effect it IS A BAN. As I am told, if you are not in law-enforcement or closely related, you will NOT get a handgun license in Canada. I have not tried to apply for one.
You were misinformed, likely inadvertently. I am not in law enforcement, nor do I have any family so employed.
I *DO* have a handgun, legally carried when I'm out in the woods, or going to and from the range.
