"Services are valued at prevailing commercial rate"
Sanders packs venues because he has major corporate entertainers play for free.
See for example: "Move Over Coachella, Bernie Sanders' Caucus Rally Is The Hottest Line Up This Season"

More so, most of these bands are corporate bands owned by huge megacorporations such as Sony and Access Industries (Russian) that Bernie Bros of all genders hate.
Well, we know nobody is going to arrest Bernie so I guess the next best thing to do is make sure his little anti-corporate wingnuts know that corporations they Bernie incites them to hate are propping up his campaign.
Sample question to Bernie Bro: "Sayyyy, Bernie Bro, why do you suppose it is that Bernie incites you to hate corporations while major corporations are supporting his candidacy? You don't suppose you're being used, do you?"
I think campaign finance laws invite abuse by the government. They are the camels nose in the tent for government meddling in election campaigns. What about a campaign volunteer that spends 1000 hours knocking on doors? If you applied the minimum wage to those hours then they have contributed over $7000 to the campaign and should be in jail according to the law. To hell with this kind of crap.

Yes and no.
Your example is perfectly legal.
But if it were a corporation or company that knocked on doors as their business it would be service in-kind.
These corporate bands are providing in-kind service to his campaign.
Yeah, it’s amazing how ignorant or double-standarded these “Democratic Socialists” are. They claim to hate big corporations but flock to corporate bands such as the ones illegally contributing to Sanders.
The one in Tacoma is a great example. Owned by one of those Ukrainian billionaires who happens to somehow have both US and UK citizenship. One of the biggest miners of bauxite on the planet.
Well, the Fake News Media isn’t going to inform them so I guess it’s up to us.
That’s how I see it.
Now it’s up to us to decide just how much of their stench we can stand in order to ask them in person.
They are only illegal if he fails to claim them.
Thanks. This is the sort of criticism I want to hear.
Let’s follow up on this.
Can a corporation provide an unlimited amount of in-kind service?
How, though, are these corporate bands playing not direct contributions?
Didn’t two well known black entertainers do the same for Hillary Clinton? Jay-Z & Beyoncé I believe it was.
Sanders has milked two legal and very lucrative loopholes in the campaign finance laws. First, his wife Jane, is also listed as his “media buyer”. This position lets her place millions in campaign ads with media organizations and receive a 15% fee. As a campaign worker for Bernie she is obligated to report this income on a Federal reporting form. The form has a box for any amount less than $1000 and a check box to indicate greater than $1000. Nice work if you can get it.
The other source is from the numerous books he has written while sitting in the Senate and authoring no significant legislation in 30 years. Not only does he get fat six figure advances but he sells his books mostly to his campaign with campaign funds who give them away at rallies. All legal. You don’t become a multi-millionaire and own 3 homes on a $300,000 Senate salary by being stupid.
Communist would outlaw all but official state-owned bands. Only the State would deliver approved music furthering the revolution.
Idiots! Cutting their own throats.
