“SELL!!”

It took them a month, but even the smartest people in the room, finally figured that out (today).

U.S. GDP is $21.7 Trillion. Imports and Exports combined (foreign trade) are $2.1 Trillion, or 9.7% of GDP.

Any country whose foreign trade is less than 15% of GDP is essentially a closed economy. In addition to being a closed economy, the U.S. is 27% of world GDP.

China’s GDP is $14.1 Trillion, and $4.62 Trillion (33% of GDP) is foreign trade. They are the world’s largest trading partner. China’s GDP is second only to the U.S., and represents 18% of the world’s GDP.

No matter how severe the impacts to foreign trade caused by the coronavirus, it will be an inconvenience to the U.S, and devastating to the Chinese.

For all of the items currently single sourced from China, an alternative source can be developed or found somewhere else, albeit at a higher cost. Those who go to the trouble of developing alternative sources will develop more than one so that competition will eventually reduce the cost.

Once that development/sourcing leaves China, it is highly unlikely it will go back.

Very little, as you already know. If you’re worried enough, and have the capability/means, perhaps totally isolate yourself completely from others (I’m inching close to that). We can now go months without skipping a beat.

I'm not worried. Worrying won't protect me. Apparently according to some people neither will taking precautions. Touch a table someone infected touched 2 weeks ago, according to some, is high risk. Will wearing gloves help? Well, what happens when I take them off and the gloves are infected? Someone behind me in line coughed on my jacket. Should I burn my jacket? Should I strip naked before I enter my house?

Don't think I'm ignoring the potential. I remain cautious and vigilant. Right now people are making a lot of predictions which seem to be based on worst-case scenarios. Plan for the worst, hope for the best?

When I see some of the predictions come true I'll know what further steps to take. As for now there's lots of suppositions and speculation.

Will it get worse? Yes. How much worse? It's all speculation based on rumors and scenarios.

I did some reading after your post. Wow. Just wow. There’s a ‘Cuba town’ street in Milan. Prato is a garment manufacturing area, which they have taken over. They previously (and I’m sure still do) took pics of beautiful expensive hand bags and clothing and then replicate it cheaply as they always do .

Can they do anything original besides copy everyone else ? I have zero respect. Absolute Zero.

So walking for 30 minutes a day in the sunlight helps us feel better and to stay healthier.

Not practical with ambient +25F and 16 MPH steady wind. Never mind that sun intensity at +42N is inadequate even in the Summer months. A cheap bottle of D3 5000IU from Walmart and a K2 supplement to activate is more practical in my environment.

Interesting, huh.

The Austin news rarely mentions much on the virus until this evening. All three channels at 5, 5:30 and 6 had long segments on it.

And...aerosolized is not the same as air droplets, it is a smaller particle and can travel further distances.

A good way to think of this is what happens when a skunk sprays in your general direction - if you run, you actually "pull" the spray/smell along with you.
