Must have boat payments that need to be made.

When he auditioned with Zappa’s band, he jammed with them for over an hour non stop as they went from song to song. Landed the job after that.

After seeing Phil’s condition on his recent solo tour, I’m not sure how this is going to work.

Yeah, Phil just finished his Still Not Dead Yet tour, and had to perform sitting down in a chair. But I'm sure there is a big payday for going out on tour again.

“No Peter Gabriel?”

I liked Genesis much better with Gabriel. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is probably my favorite album.

Still, that had a few good tunes after Peter left. As far as I know, Gabriel hasn’t released any music in quite some time. I think he’s too caught up with whatever loony causes he’s involved with.

Maybe he’ll show up at one or more of their concerts. A “surprise guest.”

I saw Genesis (with Gabriel) in Detroit when I had never heard of them. They were the warm-up band for Humble Pie (after Frampton left). I was blown away with their music and Gabriel’s costumes.

Yep, I can’t see Phil doing the Tarantella with the tambourine during “I Know What I Like”

No Steve Hackett either... :-(

I LOVE his “Genesis Revisted” work, often featuring wonderful guest performances. One of my favorites is “A Firth of Fifth” with John Wetton (King Crimson, UK, Asia) on vocals! You can find the performance on YouTube!

All the great prog bands went “Pop” in the 80s, especially Yes.

Ant did some great solo albums, especially “The Geese and the Ghost”, which featured Phil on vocals on a few tracks.

Tresspass is one of my favorite Genesis albums.

Ah yes. That great Genesis classic “In The Air Tonight.” You are clearly a true fan!

British rock band Genesis have confirmed they are reforming for a 2020 tour -- their first in 13 years.

I saw them on that last tour. Hard for me to believe it was 13 years ago but I suppose it was. That was a good show. I had no inkling of Phil Collins' health issues, he was killing it when he played drums.

Land of Confusion was an entertaining anti-Regan production.

True, but on the other hand they did this one: Illegal Alien. Imagine trying to make that song / video today.

Not really.

My fandom is reserved for Julie London and Peggy Lee, Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich...

I think “in the air tonight” was Phil Collins solo, not w/ Genesis.

They had Chester Thompson as a second drummer.

The first concert tour after PG left the band, Bill Bruford played drums, later to be replaced by Chester, and the only song Bill is credited with on "Seconds Out" is "Cinema Show." Chester Thompson has played with Genesis and Phil Collin's solo albums and tours.

Chester is an incredible drummer. Something that isn't widely known is that Chester spent 2 years playing with Frank Zappa, and another 2 years playing with Weather Report (a seminal Jazz-Fusion band,) before joining the touring company of Genesis.

This Chester Thompson is a drummer, played with Zappa for a while.

And Weather Report, with Alphonso Johnson on bass.

Revealing details of their comeback tour, they said they will perform a series of shows across the UK later this year.

I won't travel that far to see them.

Right! There is a huge chasm between "Close to the Edge" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart."
