On this side of the pond, there was a recent story about hidden dwellers in Las Vegas. Would NOT BE SURPRISED if there are such in every large city. Wherever there are gaps and cracks, someone(s) will squeeze in.
There was a guy in Milwaukee recently who had a similar setup.
So he’s now in prison?

Then he was arrested for having a zip gun. He’s never been in trouble. They need to Leave the guy alone.

FWIW, I’ve read about the cities of homeless beneath NYC, in the drainage & train infrastructure.
As a middle school kid, my friends & I would play hooky & run for miles thru the huge drainage pipes beneath the city.
We’d come up under traffic intersections & reach out the drain openings at the curbs, grabbing pedestrians’ ankles as they waited for the “walk” signal.
To us 12-year-olds, this was hilarious.
No 2A there. Too bad; it seems a simple handmade single shot firearm did him in. I didn’t read the entire thing; just enough to understand he had built a nice (for him) personal underground mini-home bunker. Pretty cool really and price for rent was right.
