The patient is a resident of Anoka County, a northern suburb of Minneapolis-St Paul and is in their 30’s. The patient developed symptoms on Feb 28 but didn’t seek care until yesterday.
it is believed that the patient was exposed to the virus through contact with international travelers.

If food riots proceed nearby, I expect them to turn into looting of better neighborhoods nearby. I want to be gone by then. Just looking for prognostication.

Smith College says all students must move out of dorms by March 20th. Says students should not expect to return this semester. Also says there will be “alternate modes of instruction.”
You’re going to see this a lot over the next few days, especially schools about to let out for Spring Break.
I think that is it—the colleges will be the new quarantined areas for people who test positive and health care facilities.

I have never listened to Rush Limbaugh’s show (nope, not even once), but she is a mega fan, and listens to him every day. I have read comments on FR that Rush has minimized the possiblity we could be in for some rough times b/c of CV19. Is he still downplaying this? Just curious.

That BITES, but true. My wife and I were jetting around the world until this year...made it halfway through our target list, and now this. Go figure.
Travel will be more expensive and risky, even after this clears, as it can always come back (or some other experiment that leaves the lab)...so not good. But my wife did say she wanted to take a break - and now she’s doing just that!

I ‘touched’ on that too. Seems we can’t go there, given our PC levels these days.
The last numbers I saw from Italy was 1%. I wouldn’t trust any number I get from Iran or China. My guess is that fatality # will slip down as people figure out what to do. H1N1 was initially high IIRC.
