Anyone craving sports will find the replay of today's first round of The Players Championship on Golf Channel. There were actual spectators on the course today, but the plan is no spectators tomorrow, Saturday, or Sunday. So if one of the guys hits a hole-in-one, he will hear not the roar of the crowd but his caddy, his playing partner, and his playing partner's caddy saying, "Good shot, dude." Still, props to the PGA for going on with the show. I can see postponing events at indoor arenas where people are in close quarters, but suspending outdoor events in the open air -- as baseball has done with Spring Training -- seems to be jusssssst a bit of a reach.
I think they just cancelled it.
RE: Kudos to the PGA for letting the show go on.
We shall see if the risk was worth it...
Golf is a non-contact sport, so....
I wonder if painter Bob Ross ever called golfing tournaments?
<soft steady voice)
That’s not a mistake. We’ll make that into a birdie. Yeah, it’s a birdie now.
“I think they just cancelled it.”

That escalated quickly!
Boring sport, could just let the players play, everyone else go home.
They did. Just now. Please delete this, Admin. Thank you.
Nascar is racing Sunday. No spectators
Tennis anyone?
PGA Cancelled!
This is ALL just virtue-signalling now. “They cancelled THEIR event, so I must cancel MY event now, to show that I CARE! I CARE DEEPLY!”
I guess I’ll catch up on prime video.
Meanwhile in Wuhan, where this all got started, folks are going back to work.
It’s a pretty decent first round. Too bad there won’t be others.
So before Tiger putts, his caddie pushes a tape recorder which plays “Get in the hole!”?
Theyre not Playing partners.
Theyre Fellow competitors.
The PGA cancelled not only the Players but also the three following tournaments, right up to the Masters, which certainly appears now to be in jeopardy. The Masters cannot readily be delayed much because of the Georgia heat—indeed, they close the course in June for the summer.
The Washington Times had an article today about Wuhan, where all this got going, returning to work. Perhaps we should, too.
I stand lingo-corrected!
