“What was the average age, complications, and were any refugees”

The heck if I know! People were saying (rationalizing) that it was their huge 20,000-strong Chinese Community (as if there aren’t any here) - but they’re quickly running out of Chinese people now...

Yeah, I see Poland just closed it’s borders. It will blow over long before election and Biden will still be babbling incoherently. Just weird seeing a State with less than 10 cases shutting everything down. Everyone in world govs seem to know something though.

Last night, for first time, my local supermarket was out of TP, kleenex and low on bread and pasta. I knew it was happening on and off across the world, so bought what I needed for few weeks or so. Still shocked to see it for some reason.

“Personally I doubt a lot of those flu death numbers. I think there is massive medical facility infection; over-prescription of multiple, conflicting drugs; plain old malpractice and institutional neglect; and death of unknown cause among the elderly that go into those flu totals.”

I don’t doubt the numbers, but I agree with you on the rest. For the longest time, they figured a mask and gloves would protect them...but that doesn’t work when the environment is saturated with virons, some, many, will get through.

You pretty much know when the you know what is about to hit the fan - right? The time to completely detach from society and hunker down for as long as possible...?

This may be it:

Trump is in a very tough spot and his actions have been spot on. I think he tried to quell financial panic early rather than address the medical side and I'm glad he's taking a better approach now.

Regardless of what he does, it will be his fault to the left. I usually applaud Trump for throwing it back in the face of his detractors i just think he was a little shortsighted on this one.

There was a shift, the night of the president’s Oval Office address, and it seemed everyone worldwide, and governors in every state in the US went on high alert. Maybe they already knew and this was the “go time” or tipping point. But whatever it was, the stronger measures will hurt the economy in the short term, but save it in the long run. We want to be SK and Singapore (proactive), not Iran and Italy (reactive).

agreed... I admit to taking things less seriously in terms of preparation, a few weeks ago. Then my daughter and her husband who are connected in the tech community left for a remote location to hunker down. I was still skeptical, but started supplementing my inventory. I took my parents who are in their 80’s out of Maryland and deposited them in the south on the beach until mid May. My last outside appt is Tuesday and then I’m playing hermit. I’m hoping Trump by proceeding too cautiously hasnt handed Biden the election.

Well panic buying finally happened in one direction from here. It’s on the interstate so I’ll go the other direction tomorrow and hit all the small grocery stores, plus walmart. Should be done with food stuff then. Next it will be some hard goods that I need for the season. thissucks
