“Speaking of “hot zones”—check out the state map at the link:

442 new cases in New Jersey”

Looks like the southern part of my county is getting hit hard. Another county to watch is Hudson, one of the top 10 counties in the country in population density, around 13,000 per square mile, and just across the river from NYC.

I can’t imagine living in such density. Not even room on the sidewalk.

But I have been to cities that dense in Asia. Especially Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore.

It’s an awful way to live.

“A better option is enforced quarantine of the “hot zones”.”

Maybe in a couple of instances they could help, but I think that bird has flown and all efforts are going to be on treatment and keeping essential industries going.

It is simply too late and there has been too much spread already

Nope. That’s the fake location of the lab. Someone moved it from 8 miles from the wet market to 21 miles away in the middle of a wooded area on google maps.

Now, why would they do that and why did google allow it?

I don’t think so. Or, I don’t sense it...

China showed regional quarantine helps when everything else is out of control. I suspect it is because people try to escape from dense hot zones with full hospitals...and carry vast quantities of the virus with them.

NYC is likely our first candidate in the US, if it ever comes to that.

The virus clearly spreads much more quickly in a dense urban environment.

I was ranting about Grand Central Station right at the beginning of this thing.

That one location probably is responsible for more positives than are in ten inland western states combined.

I was wondering about DFW Airport, and yet the DFW numbers are relatively low.

You can’t go by the published numbers, you have to go by the increasing lockdown levels to tell how much infection is spreading in the community.

In the previous thread it was noted that the US numbers have now met (or exceeded?) Germany's. Not good, any increase in numbers is not good. But, to put it in perspective - Germany, in square miles, is about the size of Montana. Also, it is an extremely population dense country. The current population is 83,709,781. That's really packing them in.

Their culture is also pretty social. The norm is to shop for groceries every couple of days. It is not the norm to keep even two weeks of supplies in the house. They also eat out and socialize a lot. Going to the "baths" (big community spas and mineral baths) is a common thing to do. Although a relative told me the baths are closed now.

Anyway, the U.S. numbers meeting or exceeding the German numbers is not really a good comparison. Just my humble opinion.

Brilliant. You get into an accident and take up a hospital bed when it wasn’t necessary. Drive the bleepin’ speed limit.

Selfish idiots. Airports should have been shut down two months ago.

YES...It’s the densest places that will be hit hardest...so SHUT down the densest places? That seems to make sense...and quarantine the elderly and immune compromised...everywhere

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,

You’re President Donald J. Trump.

No departures but plenty of CV arrivals.

Flightware is interesting.

That’s just a bad idea.

The flu bro’s have actually allowed me to hone my thoughts on this thing. Also, it makes them bother me less.

It all comes down to whether or not you would want someone infected with this working next to you.

Funny, I cannot get them to answer that question.
