Back-to-Work vs. Back-door Communism
3-23-20 | Myself

I've always thought myself a bit of a cynic. So when I heard Peter Shiff comment that the Fed will elect to buy stocks, ushering in back door Communism, I mentally backed off the idea a half-step. Now, with the Fed offering just that reveals the game that the Fed, along with the Democrats in Congress are playing. They wish to execute a Communist takeover. Why else would Democrats hold up aid to Americans when we are most vulnerable? Pelosi has been screaming about nationalizing the healthcare industry. Schumer, on the other hand, wants to nationalize the power grid.

This virus is worse than the ordinary flu,but it's not the end of the world. The longer we hunker down the weaker economically that we get and the louder become the calls come for nationalizing ALL industry. We need to just go back to work and soon. Even without the direct pressure from Marxist Congressmen, we grow less and less self-sufficient. Communism may come to look like a mercy to an increasingly larger number of Americans.

There's evidence the mortality rate is a third of what the WHO, which is tied to the Chinese Communist Party, maintains. We have treatments for the virus now as well. We need to gain hers immunity through exposure. We're better off just keeping the medically vulnerable isolated and giving money to them.

WHO adopts the leftist ideology because they are dominated by leftist personnel. It's not so much that the are a part of the ChiCom frame work, just that they share the same philosophies. While I have reservations about distancing people as much as possible to try and obtain a handle on this virus issue, I think a short term attempt is worth a try.

But I doubt very seriously that we as a nation will carry this out for an extended period of time.

I don't fear that the leftists will be able to sell the majority of Americans that businesses need to be taken over by the government. In fact many can see that institutions such as the CDC have shown their inability to carry out the functions they were created for in the first place. Thankfully because the Democrats control but one branch of the government, and our president is not the dictator they are always stating that he is. The majority of people see that this is all a lie, and that the press are the liars.

So take a deep breath, chill and find peace my friend. The American people, at least the majority, have no intention of giving the government more power than they already have. In fact most now believe that the press is indeed the enemy of the people. They are also waking up with regards to how little the Democrat Party really cares about anyone or anything, other than securing the power for themselves.

The President sent out a tweet last night saying we have to give this approach another week, and then re-evaluate.

Until there is some form of cure, the social distancing will continue whether mandated by government or not. People don’t want to catch this.

It isn’t the mortality rate that matters, it’s the percentage of infected that require long term ICU stays on ventilators, and those are not elderly patients. NYC is almost out of ICU capacity today, and that will become more of an issue - what happens when someone gets in a car accident and is injured, but the ICU is full?

Yeah, the spending sucks, and so does the exercise of power by the government at all levels. We can see some states acting way out of bounds, while others ignore it all. Who we vote for matters, and if you live in a state that takes away too many rights every day normally, then move.

We are a Republic of 50 individual nation states. Your mileage may vary.

We need to make sure there’s a stockpile of tests, drugs, respirators, masks, etc. Before sending everybody back to work.

If Trump sends people back to work and we subsequently have an Italy situation here, then he is finished.

Fever checks before entering any public place also seems to have worked well for Taiwan. So add thermometers to the list of stuff we need to stock up on before reopening everything.

We’re between a rock and a hard place here. If the quarantine lasts another month or two we will certainly experience a recession. On the other hand if we get back to business prematurely we get to where Italy is now and pretty much every industry except the coffin makers take a hit anyway.

Either way the salad days are gone.

We’re already in recession, IMHO. There are many restaurants and other businesses that simply won’t reopen. People are spending capital to pay for food and other items while not earning a paycheck or a profit. I don’t think it’s just a matter of taken present GDP and subtracting a few weeks GDP.

That’s one issue but the other is that people have to develop immunity, even though it may be painful to do so. This virus may come back again in fall or next year.
