WIth a single 400mg dose of Hydroxychloroquine each month, at a cost of less than $2 a person currently, on an emergency NAATIONAL trial basis, this pandemic could likely be vastly slowed, stopped in its tracks. The flu virue may be cured as well.
KNOW THIS: no pandemic/epidemic can be stopped with in-hospital treatment of individual patients. This saves lives at great expense and threatens survival of our healthcare system. Studies re chloroquine and hydrodxychloroquine as effective is already proven by foreign experience already and does nothing to stop this pandemic.
WHAT IS NEEDED IS A PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE approace immediately, in lieu of an effective vaccine, of a readily available well known, cheap drug whose production must be raped up immediately as a national priority. One company is ramping up HC production, but not for a trial of a preventive single dose of HC as a preventive for this pandemic. Preventive search for an effective existing mede is ZERO, all focus is on catastrophically costly and exhaustive hospital use of treatment. Hospitals never stopped an epidemic or pandemic, vaccines play a civilization preserving mass role.
Perspective: A #2.2 Trillion Coronavirus bill has been passed, this is 2.2 million-million!, or $2,200 Billion!

There are 330 persons in the US. At $2 per person, 400mg of hydroxychloroquine (2-200mg tabs)costs $660M a month for a full 7 month regular flu season from Oct to April. CV19 is thought to last 12 months for this first wave, so a 12 month single monthly dose of 400mg HC is a hare under a mere $8B!
The current flu season is fading rapidly now with the US deaths at about the CDC’s 25,000 level, and this has not caused economic catostrophe. Panic and fear have caused catastrophe. $2.2 Trillion will not prevent/cure any pandemic. PREVENTIVE MEDICINE holds ALL THE CARDS and a vaccine not available is NO EXCUSE to ABSOLUTELY AVOID MENTION or especially rational implementation of a National “CV Wartime EFFORT” to get hyroxychloroquine up and running as an emergenfcy measure.
The avoidance of hydroxychloroquine as a problable, safe fastest response measure that can stop this pandemic and panic is incomprehensible. The President is getting bad advice and the focus in-hospital issues and not PREVENTION!
We need simple conceptual preventive medicine which not “stuck on stupid” vaccine potentials.

The lack of a suitable reserve inventory of masks and other PPE is one more example of the failure of government and other publicly run institutions to properly prepare for events.
The CDC and local, state, and Federal government have spent millions of dollars of dollars on planning for pandemic events, but failed to actually buy and store the PPE they knew they would need.
Apparently the Obama administration didn't bother to restock the inventory of N-95 masks after the last epidemic used them up.
Once again Democrat politicians create a problem, and then ask for more government to fix the problem they created.

Any honest appraisal of Northam’s tenure as governor leads to an inescapable conclusion that he is a tyrant who is using the pretense of the epidemic to exercise totalitarian power. My disappointment is in how meekly Virginians are allowing the chains to be fastened to their wrists. Patrick Henry and other Virginia founding fathers are surely disappointed in their posterity.
I, although not a native Virginian, know the history of the influence of VA on the start of the building of America, as we all do.
I always thought Virginians were feisty, fighters for a cause. Instead they are nothing like the patriots of old and I do not see their becoming great again. Very sad.
