another example of China exploiting the disease for profit
These are likely the kits that China ‘donated’ (but in reality sold) to these countries

Spain returns faulty test kits to China
and so does Ukraine, Turkey and the Czech Republic.
Test kits only detect 30% of cases and are useless

Leader of the Brexit Party Nigel Farage says “China is acting as the charitable godfather, dishing out money, medical equipment and trying to use this crisis to gain global power”.

“When Germany refused to export medical masks to Italy, despite the desperate state they were in, guess who stepped in – the people who caused it – the Chinese,” Mr Farage told Sky News.

“And I wouldn’t want to see the idiots in Brussels replaced by Chinese communism dominating the world even more than it does today”.

"While the epicenter of the pandemic remains downstate, both Poloncarz and Erie County Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein warned that a similar outbreak could develop in Western New York if residents don't practice social distancing and take other aggressive precautions. County health officials are urging all residents, with or without Covid-19 symptoms, to check their temperature twice a day and self-quarantine if they develop a 100.4-degree fever."

"People are asking us to give a list of places – it's everywhere, folks," Poloncarz said, in reference to the locations of known Covid-19 exposures. "It's every major retailer. It's every supermarket ... I'm very fearful what's happening in New York City is going to happen here."

- see https://buffalonews.com/2020/03/28/cuomo-covid-19-peak-in-new-york-is-2-3-weeks-off/

THIS ^ is why events of this type show who the leaders are and are not.

Poloncarz is not a leader. His comments are just going to cause people to become more frantic to find places to shop. There's probably hundreds of grocery stores in Erie County - from big chain stores to Mom n Pop stores. And Poloncarz says COVID-19 is in every supermarket? He's feeding the panic.

And this is the first time I have seen a recommendation to take temperatures 2x/day even if you are home and practicing social distancing. Again, stoking fear and anxiety. He's just not a leader. COVID-19 is serious. Several political leaders are just not up to the task to inspire, reassure and lead.

By Gian De Poloni

The WA Government has confirmed 29 people on board the Artania cruise ship docked in Fremantle have tested positive to COVID-19.

That brings the total number of passengers and crew on board the German ship who have contracted the virus to 41.

The sick passengers are expected to be taken to two private hospitals in Perth for treatment, under a deal struck with the Federal Government.

At first, we were all like, we are going on this trip, we paid for it, the media is blowing this all out of proportion. Then, just like that, we were like . . . . .

Never trust anything anyone says about China—ever. :-)

China has thousands of years of practice lying—nobody does it better.

CDC issues ‘domestic travel advisory’ for NY, NJ and Connecticut. Here’s what it means

Joseph Spector, New York State TeamPublished 10:03 p.m. ET March 28, 2020 | Updated 10:14 p.m. ET March 28, 2020

ALBANY — The Centers for Disease Control issued a travel advisory urging residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut to avoid out-of-state travel for 14 days due to the spread of coronavirus.

The CDC advisory issued Saturday night urges residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut “to refrain from non-essential domestic travel for 14 days effective immediately.”

The travel advisory exempted certain industries: “employees of critical infrastructure industries, including but not limited to trucking, public health professionals, financial services, and food supply. “

The CDC said the governors of the tri-state area “will have full discretion to implement this Domestic Travel Advisory.”

The CDC’s message came after President Donald Trump earlier in the day had suggested a more stringent quarantine on travel out of the three states

Problem is, not 1% of the public is wearing any kind of mask when out in public.

Until virtually the entire population can on a regular basis be somehow determined to be virus free, or are wearing some sort of fairly effective mask, how do the 20% of those at risk of serious illness requiring hospitalization, PLUS those in possible contact with someone in that group, not need N95 masks to avoid infection? Many in that (very large!) group are active and significant contributors to the economy.

How do we convince those who “feel ok” but might be asymptotic spreaders to “wear a mask anyway”, unless they believe there is a real threat to themselves? Ditto for the, well, “idiot” spreaders? How many people are simply not going to understand the difference? If people in this group perceive a threat to themselves sufficient to wear a mask (and this perception is NOT unjustified), they’ll demand N95 masks too.

Add all those people up and we have to be north of 1/2 of the population. That number can be whittled down a little with time.

Our health care workers are at greater risk to be sure, but, I still think we need at least a billion N95 masks a month for the next few months, to return to some semblance of safety AND economic recovery.

The first thing that needs to happen is very very simple.

CDC needs to reverse itself and declare masks are good and patriotic and necessary.

Then they need to step up and say that there is a mask shortage and we need your help, America.

Then they need to put home mask making instructions on their web page.

Then they need to drop a hard copy of all of this in the mail to every home (just like the last mailer that went out a few days ago...)

Then the President needs and everyone of the platform needs to wear some sort of mask whenever they appear in public, and refuse to allow the press to ask questions or in the WH without a mask on....

This is _not_ that difficult.

I was hospitalized due to #Covid_19. It was a struggle to breathe and I felt like I was slowly drowning. Luckily, the doctors decided to try Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin. Within a few hours, the gasping for air stopped and I began improving. I went home 3 days later!

“At first, we were all like, we are going on this trip, we paid for it, the media is blowing this all out of proportion. Then, just like that, we were like.”

The cruise ship in Japan happened in very early Feb. and by Feb 10th, the world knew of the disaster there. So pretty much anyone going on a cruise after that knew they were rolling the dice. In this case, their cruise left on March 7, and by then there were a bunch of other cruise ship stories. It should not have been a difficult decision to skip out.

Either that or the FluBros are running store-to-store to try to get a total of 12 rolls of toilet paper for the week.
